no way could wilder get anywhere near the skill or style of Holmes in 3 months. 3 years maybe

Wilder shouldn’t bother with a trainer and save himself the money. He’s nearly 35 and is an awful boxer, it’s too late to learn - go in there and see if you can land your lucky punch, or get beat up again and collect the money and retire.

yeah if he is a true warrior, you’re outmatched in every department apart from power. Just throw non strop for 3 rounds. You either catch a lucky punch, retire knackered, or get ko’d.

wouls be a more respectable effort than wlad v fury

Freddie Roach...there is a youtube out there in which he describes Wilder's deficiencies so he already knows him.

Oh, he will never come close to Holmes level, but Holmes movements don’t rely on agility. If you watch Holmes, his movement isn’t really fluid, but it’s very effective. You don’t need exceptional speed or balance to duplicate it. His jab is also one of the best ever, he could teach wilder when to throw it, as how to throw it isn’t hard to learn.
Just those 2 things would double wilders effectiveness.

man that Holmes jab was something else.
I just don’t believe wilder could execute it against fury, he would take it away.

if wilder put his ego to one side and had a couple of tune ups perfecting it, then who knows?? I feel it’s just too soon.

Fury v Holmes however is a different story. That’s a high level chess match

I just get the feeling wilder will always resort to type if he’s clocked, gameplay out the window and just windup the right hand

It’s quite possible that when he starts to feel the pressure he resorts to old habits, happens to many, but he’s gotta do something different if he expects to change the outcome. The 2 things I mentioned would probably pay the most dividends, and takes the least time to see improvement.

If Wilder was not in denial about his loss and accepted it was largely down to a significant lack of basic boxing fundamentals, he wouldn't be looking for the rematch, but some stay busy fights in which he could implement any new skills he may pick up in training.

There is NO WAY he can make any significant adjustments in a few months, after years of essentially boxing one way.

The fact he wants the immediate rematch, suggests he's going to ignore the pressing need to evolve and in that case he might as well stick with those who know him best...

They would of course. But he needs to heal, concussion can last for weeks. Then start a camp. He’s gonna have next to no time, and I don’t think wilder picks things up easily.

    Every trainer in the land,
    Deontay Wilder needs a hand,
He's looking for a clever coach,
Like Adam Booth or Freddie Roach,

He's beat some guys who drive a cab,
But never learnt quite how to jab,
He's tried to read some boxing books,
But struggles still to land his hooks,

Within his skull there's only rocks,
Can anyone teach him how to box,
Please take a minute to explain,
How to help Bronze Bomber train,

as a poster mentioned, Larry Holmes would help.
But he needs to swallow his pride and take out a couple of top 50s perfecting things.
    He won’t do it though
