Ortiz was labelled as a boogeyman that was avoided. However in his two fights with wilder . in the first he was the first boxer to hurt wilder and almost stop him(wilder) then many saw that and felt the boogeyman fit ortiz because he had wilder in jeopardy .

Does Tyson Fury's stoppage over wilder make Luis Ortiz look overated from the boogeyman status.

Fury who isn't known for big knockouts rather hes called feather fisted etc. Stunned ,Dropped and stopped wilder in the 7th compared to ortiz who has a higher percentage of knockouts than fury , is known as a crafty puncher had Wilder stunned /hurt in the 7th but failed to finish the job .

Also who did it better in outboxing wilder. Ortiz ? Or Fury ?

Ortiz doesn't have a win over a top level heavyweight. I will view him as a bit over rated until he shows otherwise.

Ortiz is five years past his best, probably 5-10 years older than advertized, lacks a big resume, off the steroids that made him look briefly impressive, and has high blood pressure which makes it tough to get cleared for some fights.

How much worse can it get?

I don't know how to make it any clearer: Wilder fought this guy twice because they were targeting medically unfit fighters. If anyone out there wants to justify him and his behavior, that is on you. For my part, I am glad we are nearly rid of him.

Ortiz was always very overrated. His résumé is worse than Wilder's, and is living off a single win, 5 years ago, over someone who never did anything of note himself aside from show Wladimir's age.

He wasn't the first to hurt Wilder, but the fact that he did shows how overrated Wilder is. He's made for Wilder, stylistically, and his amateur pedigree is blown out of proportion. Anyone who's honest with themselves can see he's gassed up to fortify Wilder's résumé, and wouldn't have this "journeyman" tag if he wasn't Cuban.

Fury should have two wins over Wilder. Ortiz has zilch.

He just didn’t have the cardio to keep up his pressure after the first half

as soon as you start slowing down against wilder the more trouble your in, put himself in the perfect position for that right hand.

Ortiz is decent but stick a fork in him

Ortiz lost twice to DW... THAT'S all his relation to Fury is. Trying to incorporate all these non-factors just muddles up everything. Over analyzation... not needed here.

Ortiz IS overrated and was done so to big up Wilder’s resume. He technically looks sound but has beaten nobody and I’ve no idea how The Ring rate him as high as 4th, very bizarre. I would pick Povetkin, Hunter, Parker, Ruiz, Usyk and maybe even Pulev to beat him.

Does that mean I don't need to keep checking under my bed in case he's there?

Wilder definitely rates him highly. It's hard to know how good he is because he hasn't fought anyone else in the top echelon and he's not called out very often. A high risk, low reward type fight.

Luis Ortiz's best win being Bryant Jennings 4-5 Years ago when he was still on PEDs makes him overrated.

Imagine if Povetkins best and ONLY notable win was Takam back when povetkin was juiced and the AJ fanboys ran around calling him the boogeyman.

Actually Takam is slightly better than jennings

I don't get much right (ask my wife, she'll confirm this) but I've said for many years now Ortiz is ridiculously overrated and I'm right.

His best win was Bryant Jennings, years ago now.

Dave Allen was stopped on his feet against Ortiz a year after Jennings, DAVE ALLEN, he went 7 rounds with Ortiz. With respect Allen is a walking punchbag, if Ortiz was that much of a monster Allen would have been destroyed very quickly.

Watch the Malik Scott fight, Ortiz looked awful.

Ortiz is an old man with heart problems, he looks every day of 50 years old and one day we will know just how old he really is.

    Ortiz is done now, finished.
