    This isn't true Foster had 3 losses against LHWs before he won his title. A 182lb Doug Jones knocked Foster out. I count that as LHW given it was a no limit weigh in he could easily make 175

    Roy can say no one could barely win a round against him for the first 15 rounds of his career.

    Roy by KO or clear decision in a one off fight. Foster would have NEVER seen someone with the speed, power and timing of Jones, nor the movement and elusiveness. He would be befuddled in a one fight situation against Roy. In a rematch though, I think his chances go up, and he could win that fight.

    People are too nostalgic over Foster. I am trying to remember someone he beat who was as good as Tarver, Hill, Johnson, Griffin or even McCallum (since someone will mention the 104 year old Dick Tiger)...

    Mike Quarry was just as good if not better than everyone of those fighters you listed.
    Including the version of Mccallum Jones faced.

    No he wasn't, not even close. Foster burst the bubble on a guy who hadn't beaten anyone beyond the regional level.

    With all due respect, all of Bob Foster's knockout losses were to heavyweights, not light heavyweights, for example Ernie Terrell, Joe Frazier, and Muhammad Ali. He was World Light Heavyweight Champion from 1968-1974. I do not think as talented as he was, Prime Roy Jones Jr would have reigned as long as Bob did as champion. Foster retired as champion.

    Very true, one of the tougher title defenses that Bob Foster had was against Chris Finnegan in London, Bob stopped Chris in round 14, but Finnegan was one tough opponent.

    I really like Roy Jones and I might rate him higher than Foster but I think Foster catches him and stops him

    Good Post. In those days, 1968, there was none of these shenanigan's at the weigh in, if you were one pound over, you did not fight. That is a Canelo thing and he was not born yet.
