Rivas is a dangerous fight, and that seems to get overlooked here? At one point he was poised to be the next big thing on these forums.

Rivas came in super hungry as well... throwing KO shots from the first Bell.... he fought well and I'd back him to beat many top guys in the division.

As usual, bias is rife in that Ortiz beats jennings and he becomes a god, Rivas does it... he just stays Rivas

Id be kicking the kids out if they ate the last bag tbh

Plenty other boxers have been labelled incorrectly a cheat and come back in shape

Whyte didn't,yet won so respect to him

His mindset didn't allow him to continue training as others may have and have done

Its done anyway,he got over the hurdle in his first fight back so as i have mentioned in other threads, lets judge him after this upcoming fight

I personally think he will in decent shape (decent for Dillian anyway as he is a natually huge lump)

Povetkin is 40 y/o, has had a very long and arduous career in combat sports fighting at the top/elite level in both almost as long as Luis Ortiz has been collecting his pension, and is way past his best. And on top of that he took a lot of damage in his last fight against Michael ''The Bounty'' Hunter.

Granted he's still a top ten HW, is dangerous and can punch with both hands, and is definitely capable of taking Dill out if he catches him flush with a big one or a sequence of big ones. However, I just don't see this ending well for him given his age and the decline and I very much doubt he's going to be receiving any favours from the ref and judges either.

He has always spoke out of the side of his mouth. It's a unique trait, but it has been there since I have followed him from very early in his career.

He was not sure his career would continue because of the supposed PED finding after the Rivas fight.

I kinda agree, I like Pov but he's starting to become a bit worn around the edges. If Whyte is in shape I think he stops Sasha sadly.

Wach is 40. So that makes back-to-back 40 year old opponents. Thus the use of "again."

Wach wasnt facing suicide or walking away from the sport or PED allegations when you had the star status of Whyte

Dave Allen has a tiny bit of popularity and he deleted his twitter over fight fixing allegation

Wachs two week notice aint comparable

Whyte and Wach both took the fight with the same 2 week notice, correct?

yes the fight was put together in three weeks i dont know if wach had a previous arrangement to stay ready like Hearns usually does with some fighters to save a show

but clearly whyte wasnt on stand by so I cannot definitively say if Wach was on three weeks notice or if he said he did at a presser I cant remember

That is actually what I was asking. I didn't think Wach had one lined up but he could have.

Either way, there is only one person at fault in the equation and that is Whyte not staying fit. Whose fault is that? Suicidal, thinking he'd be suspended, getting off PED's, etc. whatever the reason doesn't ultimately matter too too much. He fought Wach and looked terrible. You're never supposed to lose more than maybe a round to that guy and you are supposed to look very good.

In addition to youth, freshness, and home advantage he's also going to be giving away reach and a lot of weight too.
