ROFLMAO!! Watch the tape of the fight,as its obvious you have never seen it. You will see just about every foul known to man used. The ending of the fight was laughable if it wasnt so serious. The bell goes to end the round then Duran throws a very late punch, way after the bell, deliberately aimed at Ken's testes. Ken was unable to answer the bell for the next round so ref Johnny LoBianco counted him out. ref Lo Bianco was called on to explain his actions. Watched the film & insisted the blow was on the bell & was on the belt line ROFL!!
everyone could see it was a two fold foul but the ref just walked out. Ken knew the blow was low for sure he spent the night in hospital with his family jewels heavily iced up. HOW THE REF GOT AWAY WITH THAT & STILL OFFICIATED WAS DIABOLICAL

Another fight with an ending like that was Gainer vs. Norwood. Norwood went down after an obviously intentional low blow, so the ref administered the 20-count(?) and then stopped it when Norwood got up at 18(?). I don't know if it's considered controversial, as Gainer was ahead on the cards and Norwood had done the majority of the fouling throughout the fight.

Yeah I thought the same. Chavez flooring Kamau late probably saved him but it was very close.

No one has mentioned Whitaker vs Ramirez.
Whitaker did everything, but ko Ramirez. Hard
To find a round Ramirez actually won.
Whitaker vs Chavez while not as bad as the Ramirez fight, still plenty bad.

Nat Fleischer cited Griffith win over Tiger for the middleweight crown to be the worst rendered fight in New York City and blamed corruption.

He gave Tiger 10 rounds to 5.

Why have you reverted to acting like a child George? That was one of the dirtiest fights & deplorable officiating I've seen. I doubt you ever seen the fight it was wayyyyy before you were born lol
Tony was never a dirty fighter & as for the pathetic " rocks in his hands" jibe
Thats been proven false. Grow up & talk boxing George you were doing quite well for a while

I think you maybe mixing the two fights up. Whitaker did not lose a minute let alone a round in the rematch.

The first fight was indeed a terrible decision, and rightly called so at the time. But Ramirez did compete at times (although far from enough to get the decision).

Benton/Duva with hindsight, got the tactics wrong, with Whitaker taking it a bit too easy near the end, ala Halger/VitoI. Not that, that was any justification for the decision, Whitaker did not shut out Ramirez, but did deserve the comfortable decision.

Of course I've seen it, Durán is one of my all-time favourites. Where did I deny that Durán was dirty?
