Price was about 1/4 to win that fight. Crazy to think of how obvious a duck it was at the time bearing in mind how things would respectively go.

I gave him that fight... He deserved the nod... Both fights were great from what I remember.... Mcdermott couldn't miss with the right hand in the first fight

I'm not laughing, I agree with you. Development is everything in boxing and sport in general. Fury 100% lost the McDermott fight.... However it was an invaluable lesson. Fury still showed a lot of heart and improved drastically from it. I 1st saw Fury at the 2008 ABA finals on BBC. Look at him now!

Price was wrecking everyone at domestic level in fashion. At the time I reckoned he would have nailed Fury.

What can't be denied is how Fury has continually improved through the years to become the best heavyweight on the planet currently.

John's Dad, " Big " Stan McDermott knocked Terry out when they were both pro's but I don't think there was any bad blood or beef between them. Terry just had one of his nights.

    Enjoyed that.

Maloney really was a money grabbing scumbag.

You can hate on Eddie Hearn but he works for his fighters imo, don’t think you’d see him doing that to them or not paying them like other promoters. That can only be good for boxing.

A shame McDermott didn’t get a final payday to help him in his life after boxing. A good fighter on his day and was on the end of a few dodgy decision. Can still be proud of his career though.

Didn't realise that, nice little fact.

I'd say that's a strong reason enough reason as to why he should not have been refereeing that night....

Good to hear that John Fury allegedly gave McDermott his due with ‘My son got the decision but you won the fight’

If only McDermott got some of the Tyson Fury money to go along with that due.

Yep he often shows favoritism for one of the fighters, and that definitely could have been the reason. But besides that he's just a worthless judge and referee.
    How about Callum Smith?
Yeah I'm no' Bri'ish, bu' Zaggy won tha'...
Don't think he will, or it will be without fighting enough big names. Fury despite the show from last week is definitely beatable.

Decent fighter was McDermott, remember when he did Larry Olubamiwho in one round and it was seen as something of an upset, don’t think Larry has won a fight since.

Matt Skelton wiped him out very early as well on the undercard of the Fraudley v Danny Williams stinker at the Excel Arena.

People have mentioned getting blown out in 1 round by Price but McDermott was in absolute disgusting shape for that fight.

That Larry KO seems to have vanished off the internet. He was geared to his nut for that fight. Didn’t help a bit
