To be fair Wilder only faced Fury that's top class who's Luis Ortiz faced?

AJ definitely. Since Wilder's first loss was his first fight with Fury.

Wasn't he actually favourite for the rematch despite this?

AJ always had the option to make better use of his reach in his rematch with Ruiz. Wilder doesn't have that option. He does still have his punch, but he landed that twice against a not fully fit Fury in the first fight and couldn't knock him out.

Wilder and rightfully so. He doesn't have the boxing fundimentals that AJ has to fall back on. It was obvious that AJ could win especially if he boxed smarter which he did. It doesn't help Wilders case that he lost the first fight as well. So he's been beat twice by Fury now in two different ways. His ego has been shattered.

I doubt Wilder is gonna have Waldo School him in the art of "Jab Jab Grab Hold Repeat" in the Arts of the Octopuss Strategy... Wilder will go into the 3rd fight lean like in the first fight and look to land the right hand and drop Fury like he did twice in the first fight. Ruiz underestimated Joshua being able to slim down enough to run from him for 12 rounds, Ruiz figured no matter how fat he got all he had to do is land a few shots and Joshua would spit out his mouthpiece and quit!

I think both got ran through the ringer for losing but Joshua's loss looks worse because he looked like a bodybuilder getting Owned by a Morbidly Obese Midget!!

only what about 8 months between Joshua losing and Wilder losing? All that laughing Wilder did about Joshua losing came back to haunt him! Karma I guess...

Aj was written off more imo, and that was probably because of the Caliber of the opposition, which is kind of fair in away.
But it was more of an anomaly in his career than wilders loss was. In that wilder is regularly getting beaten up in fights and just claws it back with his one shot power, he was losing all the fights with Ortiz and fury, he was saved by the ref in first Ortiz fight, he was getting beat up until the ko in the second fight with Ortiz, and he was beaten in every round of the first fury fight apart from the rounds he knocked fury down and possibly he got the second round, he lost both the fury fights in my opinion.
I know this isn’t relevant to the question, but if you take away wilders one shot you can put him in the ring with any other top 10 heavyweight and he gets embarrassed every time.

Which top 10 heavies are they? Name 10 heavies now that could land on Wildder the way Fury did without getting countered by that l;ong reach, Fury only landed 10 more punches than Wildder in their first bout and the depth in this heavy division isn`t the best.

AJ was boxing fine for the first two rounds compared to Wilder`s start v Fury and then floored Ruiz, in the same round that Wilder got floored by Fury, no comparison, all Wilder showed that AJ didn`t was mlore heart, Wildder`s feet were all over the place, while AJ was just backing up, he landed far more punches on Ruiz in that bout that Wilder did on Fury, he looked awful.

Wilder was a 5-1 favourite against Fury in the rematch.

I said if you take away his one shot and I said every top ten heavyweight, it probably wasn’t fair as you can’t take away his one shot. But the point is he is poor and incapable of displaying any real boxing ability and taking rounds or a points win, he is one dimensional. He did well to avoid Whyte because Whyte would have roughed him right up and shot his credibility to bits.
Wilder is a very dangerous fighter but he’s an awful champion with an awful resume and he’s kidnapped the belt for to long because he knows he will never hold another heavyweight title again.

This! I'll willing to bet than most people on this forum look more like a fighter than Ruiz. I know body shape and fight skills are not correlated. Larry Holmes wasn't ripped but could fight like hell but not come on now. Plus AJ was a huge favorite in the first fight. That's why it was considered an upset. Alot of people pick were split on the Fury/Wilder picks. It was the fact the Wilder was dominated that it looks bad not the fact that he lost.

AJ is out of the doghouse because he won the rematch and Wilder most likely won't win the thrid fight. But at least Fury looked somewhat like a fighter.
