I posted that in another thread, Hrgovic isn’t ducking because the Bakole fight won’t happen until the Joshua / Povetkin fight in late June on that undercard if it were made .

 

Cool, well that makes more sense, have Forrest as a tune up than fight Bakole a couple of months after.

 

Maybe Hrgovic-Mansour next

 

overated prospect has been for ages now.

 

Wilder taking on the dangerous Nichols really puts everyone else to shame here.

 

Forrest is a bum but is likely better than Ebenezer Tetteh, will give Hrgovic that much.

 

He's fought Mansour before.

 

Look, not a disgraceful fight but it's the hype and claims that have been made about Hrgovic that makes this a little disappointing.

Like it's been said, Hrgovic is basically a novice pro, we shouldn't expect crazy fights but..

Hearn was saying not so long ago that nobody wants to fight Hrgovic, Hearn was offering Dubois, Joyce and others fights.. Bakole steps up and wants it and they say "No".

So it's a little disappointing in terms of a "name", but we will see what happens next, could be a number of reasons why they didn't fancy a Bakole fight right now and maybe they will get a bigger name next.

 

Yea I know how it goes , the only one that has been ducked is Hrgovic so far . Hunter declined him on the Joshua / Ruiz 2 card . Thought the smaller Povetkin was done and thought the match would get him a title contention boost . If Hrgovic is seeking Hunter out I’m sure he’s not afraid of the guy who lost to him .

 

Not a terrible opponent, but it would be better for his career if he fought a well-known heavyweight. I was hoping Hrgovic would fight a top 25 contender.

Even someone like Arreola or Breazeale would be better, at least people know who they are.

 

I think his people concluded that the Bakole risk/reward equation wasn't good (at this stage) and they're filling in the date with a decent southpaw. If he wins, he gets his numbers up by one which resonates a bit with casual fans. Fury/Joshua etc all have their next year booked up, so he's probably circling until a fight against a big name could actually translate into a belt shot.

 

Posted previously that I thought this would happen. Waste of time fight. Forrest is the only winner as he's probably getting his best payday.
