Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano May 2nd Manchester

Ok so this has been confirmed as the co-main to Whyte vs Povetkin according to Benson.

I think this is a great fight, pretty much the biggest women's bout of all time.

Serrano is an absolute beast and I think she will be able to walk through Taylor and land those heavy-hands.

I'm either taking Serrano by stoppage or Taylor by gift decision.

Thoughts?

 

I am taking Taylor by wide decision. Serrano looks fantastic against girls she outweighs by 20 pounds or those that are unskilled but name me any names she has beat.

Serrano has won titles in 7 divisions but if you look through it, 90% of those wins are for vacant titles. Give me Taylor all day.

 

It’s tough to say with the depth of women’s boxing. I’m a fan of Taylor but she’s over the hill now. If women’s boxing had the depth of men’s then she’d not get away with being so past peak.

I’ll go with Serrano based on gut, think she’ll bully KT. Hope KT does it though...

 

I’ve not seen Serrano fight but if people think she’s is good then she could well win, nobody said much about that Belgian Taylor pretty much lost to. Still a shame she wasn’t given the rematch

 

Very good fight, intriguing to see how this goes. Couple of more good undercard fights please, could be a cracking night. Hyped to be there live.

 

I think Katie has been on a steady decline since the amateurs and she's not getting any younger. She's got through poor quality opposition no problem because she was an amazing fighter but when it was really put on her by Persoon, she struggled badly.

If Serrano is as good as they say, I think Katie may need favourable judging. I hope I'm wrong because Katie certainly was a great fighter and is a great role model for young girls.

We should learn in this fight whether the Persoon performance was a lucky learning curve or a significant sign the end is near. On that subject, after Serrano, she better rematch Persoon.

 

Fair points. That's why it's a interesting fight, as not sure exactly what will happen. I agree we need to see that rematch next.

Serrano is tough and if she can implement a similar game plan to Persoon I can see her beating Katy up and getting stitched up on the cards.

 

SO is this a harder than that giving that lass a rematch who beat her up?

Persoon was robbed and an immediate rematch should have been arranged.

Eh Day knows, Taylor knows and even Tony Troll's Nose knows - Taylor should get back in the ring with her and back up Eh Day's claims about being the finest.
