Wilder terrorized the division? Not vs Any ranked man in his prime. Wilder could punch. I could name 50 others who actually ko’d ranked opponents in their prime. Wilder is a 0 in this department. I do agree with that wilder will be remembered as a puncher with a lame excuse who didn’t fight top competition aside from Fury who he did not beat. I would say Lennox Lewis to use your words was a better phenomenon than Wilder x 5 Vitali retired Lewis who was trying to make other matches when the wbc ordered the re-match. Lewis balked . The wbc was his only belt at the time. I think more than one of Vitali’s beaten opponents that could beat Wilder who Was not only packing glass, but was also a modest boxer at best, often exposed in victory by non top ten opponents.
Do you want to compare the opponents ranking for title defenses between Vitali and Wilder. I doubt it. It’s a blow out there are quite a few posters here who don’t like Vitali. I get it. But what your saying can not stand. You do know Vitali has more title defenses than Wilder? Probably not but now you do.
Yeah, but he took out a legend. That's enough to be remembered even as a footnote which is all Wilder is ever going to be remembered as.
Again, as far as how Wilder will be remembered, I'm not sure the above^ matters. Pretty much everyone acknowledges Wilder's fire-power. David Haye “I’ve sparred with Deontay Wilder many times,” Haye said. “He’s got a very, very, very, hard right hand and it’s an equaliser.” Luis Ortiz “His right hand is more powerful then one could imagine,” “His power is like a whip type of punch, like Thomas Hearns. He’s got long arms ya know. “Wilder is the best heavyweight of this millennium … [and] deserves everything he gets, he’s earned that in the ring.” https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/632731/most-fiercest-puncher-history-deontay-wilder-tyson-fury/ Dan Rafael “…his right hand is so tremendous and does so much damage that even when he doesn't land it flush, he can afford to rely on it.” “In the end, Wilder beat Ortiz the way he beats everyone, with a one-punch knockout with his right hand. It is the most devastating weapon in all of boxing in any weight class, and it might be the best punch in boxing history. His power is absolutely freakish. https://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/story/_/id/28148850/experts-take-deontay-wilder-always-find-punch Holyfield, who said “I have no idea how Fury got up after he got hit so hard,” by Wilder in 2018, said Wilder’s record alone proves he deserves to be at or near the top of such a mythical list. “Every time he hits guys, they don’t move,” Holyfield said. “Don’t make it too complicated: That tells you what you need to know.” https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/de...ong-all-time-greatest-punchers-003706554.html Teddy Atlas “I’m gonna say Wilder’s the greatest heavyweight puncher I ever saw.” https://www.reddit.com/r/Boxing/comments/e52gj5/teddy_atlas_wilder_is_the_greatest_heavyweight/ “For one punch, just one punch, I think Wilder, I’m telling you, is the hardest puncher in the history of the sport,” Atlas told ***ing*****. “As far as the hardest punchers, you have Earnie Shavers, Max Baer, Joe Louis, Mike Tyson could do damage with the left and right. But for just one punch, I have to go with Wilder.” https://www.************.com/teddy-atlas-sees-early-ko-wilder-interested-training-andy-ruiz--146383 Richard Towers Retired 6'8" heavyweight Richard Towers, who has been used as a sparring partner for just about everyone, including Anthony Joshua, Wladimir Klitschko, Vitali Klitschko and Tyson Fury, recently told the Sun: "I've sparred with every heavyweight you could think of, except Joseph Parker. And I know when it comes to power, Deontay Wilder is in a league of his own." "Put it this way: He hits FOUR times harder than Vitali Klitschko, he hits FIVE times harder than Wladimir Klitschko, he hits SIX times harder than Anthony Joshua, and he hits EIGHT times harder than Tyson Fury." https://www.fightsaga.com/fightsaga/news/deontay-wilder-punching-power-among-all-time-greats Daily Mail “The most frightening fighter on the PLANET: Deontay Wilder is not a classic heavyweight but he has unique speed, stamina and style that make him boxing's biggest puncher” https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/b...eontay-Wilder-frightening-fighter-planet.html Predictions for a Wilder win against Fury in the rematch came from Teddy Atlas; Bernard Hopkins; David Haye; Abner Mares; Colin Hart; Thomas Hearns; Larry Holmes This won't cause instant amnesia in fans, who have followed his progress in amassing a 93% KO ratio. Yep - you're still not getting it. Wilder will be considered a bigger deal than [name that Vitali K. scalp, here] because, like it or not, he has gained notoriety as a huge heavyweight puncher. I think you're having a hard time understanding the context and meaning of the term "phenomenon". I am not sure it can be described as "better" or quantified in such a way as you have attempted to do so, here. But, either way, Lewis was just a better boxer than Wilder and, to date, is proven as such; better than Vitali, too - so I am not sure what ground you're trying to make here. Lewis retired Lewis, after gifting Vitali K. the greatest moment of his career - a game TKO 6 Loss. And, what's this got to do with Wilder, anyway? It doesn't matter, because a 'who-beats-who' was not the main thrust of the speculation I initially made. Get it? As always, you insist on responding to a post by not addressing the points made within it and, instead, engage in continual goalpost-moving to better position yourself within your comfort zone - that of VK adulation.
LMAO @ 'busted as pro' while you full well know Vitali was busted in the amateurs. 'Yeah guys I'm turning pro, time to stop taking the performance enhancing stuff. That's just for amateurs.' Fury has more skill in his little finger than Vitali has in his whole body
As a Pro Vitali was clean. As an amateur some doctor gave him something to heal an injury, and it had one of 200 banned substances in it, but it was hardly anything a PED abuser would take. So Vitali always clean as a pro. Fury likely on PED's long before he fought Wlad and was busted. END OF. He's dirty. Fury is not that skilled. He fights limited people. And gets hit more than fans think. Let him fight Joshua, and get stopped, Then I'll bump this thread and say I told you so to the Fury fanatical fans. Deal?
Butterbean was a pheonoem too. I say Wilder will be remembered a belt milker who's power didn't bail him out vs the two best men he fought. I really hope Wilder fights more vs. top 10 competition. He'll lose and get stopped. Yes, he'll be remembered as a big puncher. Part of being a big puncher to me is actually stopping ranked opponents in their prime, which he has not. He'll be remembered for a really lame excuse. He'll be remembered for beating just one man in his prime inside the top ten and that was a distance fight. He'll be remembered for a gift draw vs. Fury then getting blown out in the re-match. I'm not saying your wrong on the part of what he will be remembered on, rather I'm saying there will be plenty of negativity attached to his legacy as well. So I'll agree with what your are saying. Tommy Morrison was a great puncher, so was Gerry Cooney and Shavers, How are they remember today? Wilder is among the best punchers, now can you agree with the rest of what I'm saying. Your reply will be interesting. One point vs many. PS: I never said Wilder could not punch.
Yes I know his excuse. If you want to buy every drug users excuse, I'm sure you'll buy Fury's that he ate Royal Boar There're all dirty, it's just Fury was stupid enough to get caught Fury will beat Joshua, better boxer
Fury was using PED's well before he was champion. Why did he feel he needed that edge? Fury isn't a better boxer. Joshua is his equal in many ways and in some way throws much better and harder punches which Fury wont be able to take. Fury also isn't a puncher, at least not on Ruiz jr's level, so Joshua is not likely to be hurt by what Fury is throwing. I see Joshua winning this fight.
The following were ranked top 10 at some stage or another and all were ko'd: Stiverne Arreola Ortiz Breazeale Liakhovich a KO1 - later took Ruiz the distance Joshua bet Wilder couldn't stop Breazaele quicker than him and was shocked he took him out in a round. David Haye sparred with Wilder and believes Wilder is the hardest hitter of all time
And what did Tyson Fury, the man he knocked down twice, have to say about Wilder's punching power? This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
