I bet half the 700 channels Ruiz subscribes to are Food Networks, Cooking Channels, etc...

A tuneup to fight an old guy who lost twice, but was ready on the spot to fight AJ. Laughable.

Or, Ruiz simply doesn't want to risk taking an L against Ortiz without a title on the line and lose his chance for a big payday.

I think that is unlikely, as if he is worried about taking an L against a 40+ year old, then how does he think he will ever get into contention for a title fight again in the near future?

It's about risk and reward. He doesn't have a prayer against Fury, but there's no shame in losing to him and he'd get a nice payday. Against Ortiz, however, the purse would be much smaller and a loss would mean he has to go back to the drawing board and climb his way back up.

Why would Fury give him a voluntary though? Top Rank has been adding heavyweight talent for a reason. Plus doubt Arum would want to make that fight at all, given the history he has with Ruiz.

So again it feels all a bit staged and convenient that it came in the wake of Wilder's loss.

Of course he could just be deluded as to his own standing and believes one of the champions is going to give him a voluntary shot.

He's just clinging onto the thought that he's 1-1 with Joshua therefore deserving of another title shot. But I agree that he shold've taken the fights with either Ortiz or Wyhte and prove that he's actually deserving.

It seems like the money got to him and that is what he is interested in. I would like to see him earn his way to a title fight with hard work and discipline. Otherwise he will do the same thing as he did in December, and say after he didn't train but he wants another big fight. Once people make excuses it just keeps going. Duran who was a great fighter loved to make excuses after fights, and did so after each loss.

What's worse than Andy Ruiz is his idiot fans in his Instagram comments section blowing smoke up his backside, and attacking anybody who negatively responds to yet another one of his fashion or car posts.

I like Andy Ruiz, and accept that earning a lot of money very quickly can be a difficult thing in its own way.

Does anybody else remember the interview about 5 weeks before the first Anthony Joshua fight on IFL TV, when he gave an interview and his children were also on camera? That's the Andy Ruiz that endeared people, and made him likeable. Not some pompous guy wearing shades 24/7 and some stupid beta-man $5,000 tracksuit, standing next to one of his 10 souped up mobiles.

I think he's done too. He's a lazy simpleton with talent.
