Very similar. Neither man was a particularly big Middleweight and a move up would only have diminished them.

I think he punches weight drained no longer a SMW Smith all over the ring. It pains me to give Canelo credit but he's taking the tougher fight due to style in BJS. A drained Smith just got his ass handed to him by Ryder ffs.

Interesting fight, but here's the difference.

Canelo is prime, PED-ed bulk, can possibly get a hydrate clause on Smith and at the very least get him on a Vegas show where if he avoids a KO he wins.

GGG is nearing 40, doesn't have the GB PEDs, won't get a hydrate clause and probably has to fight in the UK where he will be at the mercy of British refs and cards.

Very different scenarios. Smith dwarfed Groves, so he's going to dwarf Canelo and GGG. It's understandable if both avoid him, really, since he's naturally far bigger. We don't know the details of the negotiations but it's possible Canelo's team never wanted Smith due to the size difference, or may only with a weight clause that Smith wouldn't agree to. BJS is absolutely the least dangerous of the two when you consider the size and judging situation.

You can't compare Canelo facing BJS, the smaller less powerful fighter on a GB show, with GGG facing the far bigger and more dangerous fighter in the UK, especially if it turns out Canelo never intended to fight Smith.

Why don’t Callum Smith target someone who’s not a middleweight?

A lot of these haters literally just make up their own narrative. I think a lot of these guys have some kind of mental disorder. For example, it's been three years since the Canelo-Golovkin fight and these mentally I'll guys are literally still crying about it..

For contrast, I was a big DLH fan, when he was robbed against Mosely I was done talking about it within a month or two.

GGG is a MAN!!!! He is a middleweight a 160 pound fighter. Canelo is the one that lacks the balls of a man. He claims to be world middleweight champ, bogus champ to me, but he wont defend his titles in MSG the Mecca of Boxing against the man that legitimately kicked his ass but got screwed ...... Gennady Golovkin. Ginger knows in his heart he never really beat or even drew with Gennady but that corruption gave him those bogus decisions. That is the reason I hold absolutely NO RESPECT for Canelo, Oscar, The NSAC & Vegas boxing

Well, you like to call Golovkin a fraud every time you get a chance saying he only beats bums and so on, all the while Canelo is extremely lucky to not have a loss or two on his record to Golovkin. If people like you would shut up and give Golovkin his proper respect then we might not feel the need to mention how lucky and blessed Canelo is by Oscar. I do give Canelo respect and i dont call him a fraud even though i might have a reason to do so.I don't expect you or any other Golovkin haters to change.Only a KO of Canelo by GGG would wake you up,but that's highly unlikely do to Canelo peaking and Golovkins age. Not to mention his changing trainers from Sanchez to Banks.
