Mannion was dominated though and never dropped throughout his career so hardly a poor performance from McCallum.

McCallum's first significant win was where he dominated ex-champ Kalule in '82, stopping him a couple of rounds before Moore. By '84 he was making Minchillo quit after 13 rounds because of McCallums sustained workrate throwing 100 punches round on round. Minchillo went the distance with Hearns and Duran. I think this shows McCallum certainly has more stamina than Duran by '84, so 15 rounds isn't going to be any issue for him.

Mike always had good stamina, but my point was and is that Mannion was not in Duran's class really and Duran was not this washed up guy everyone wants to make him seem so he has an excuse. If Mannion can go 15 with him so could Duran, and maybe Mike's speed would be a factor Duran would find a way to land some punches going 15. Mike was better than Davey Moore. I agree with that. Mike was more offensive minded than Benitez, who sort of outclassed Duran in a way Mike probably could not.. I am just saying Duran even found Hearns chin a couple of times, so Mike could be hit. I don't think Mike would throw 100 punches against Duran. I think this fight goes the distance and I think it is pickem. Mike a couple of years later beats Duran much easier than in October of 1984
