Kownacki turned down AJ last year then fought Arreola and now he's fighting Helenius.

That would be extremely one sided missmatch. Both are come forward pressure fighters with good chins however Kownacki has the worst defence I' seen for top 20 fighter (even worse than Joyce!). Whilst Kownacki when it comes to hand speed has to one of the slowest amongst the top 20 fighters whilst it's probably out of Ruiz and Parker for who has the quickest hamds in the divison.

What a terrible world we live in.

I opened this expecting it to say he’s been popped for drugs.

This has been mooted for later this year if/when Ruiz comes through a soft comeback fight. Heavyweights today definitely reverting back to the 1980’s body types.

    I'm suspicious.

It's guilt by association, but his links with jarrell Miller and the similarity in their weight/ output coupled with his disinterest in a mega bucks AJ fight when the offer may have come at the wrong time in a cycle.

Course you can also say they're all at it...

I think Kownacki is hugely over-rated and believe he will be upset one day soon unless he gets his world title shot fairly sharpish. I would be less shocked than most if Helenius wins but still expect Kownacki to win.

Durable but he's too slow and lacks the skills to trouble the top guys. That's a perfect example why Arreola never won a world title and Andy Ruiz Jr did. The 3 are ploddere but those 2 attributes are the difference between top 15 contender ad heavyweight champion.

People who dis Kownacki are really missing the boat. This guy has a package of skills--excellent chin, excellent volume, good power, that beats most fighters out of the gate. In the Martin fight, for example, Kownacki won five rounds before Martin got started, and when he hit Kownacki with his best punch, the Pole just looked annoyed.

He's going to go a long way.
