Helenius bounced him across the ring like a basketball. That as a damn good fight!

To be fair I wouldn't have minded that fight. Kownacki had already notched up a few decent wins and looked to have a very good chin the way he walked through punches with zero effect. It would have been interesting to see how he would have stood up to Wilder's power, and whether his workrate and above average punching power would have cause Wilder any issues. Now, of course, that fight's completely off the table.

Price is always said to be able to upset a big name due to his punching power and yet in all the opportunities he has been given to do so never has.

It would've been exciting and he's probably a step upward from most of the Wilder resume, but if you wanted to pick someone who was likely to wind up on the wrong side of a Wilder right hand then AK must've been high on the list. As he moved up the rankings it looked like one of those pre planned PBC solutions, just like Breazeale was carefully groomed for his turn on the block. I think they'd already moved on to suggesting he fought Ruiz Jr though so the chance of the Wilder fight probably died that night in Vegas.

Has AK fought anyone else that hits with real power?

Not to my knowledge. Martin could crack a bit, and so could Arreola, even the faded version. Szpilka wasn't a huge puncher but he wasn't a featherfist either. No one on the level of Helenius though, who's a bit of a freak the way he punches sometimes.

Yeah, Kownacki definitely seemed like someone being set up to be the next defence for Wilder had he got past Fury. I would have given him a slightly better chance than Breazeale (who's slow and ponderous as well as hittable) but nothing that would have made me think he had much of a chance. I actually envisioned Kownacki going down against Wilder exactly the same way it actually happened vs Helenius, weirdly.

Although we won't see Kownacki v Wilder the resurrection of Helenius is great news. He looks like he's just jumped out of a longboat ready to sack a saxon village. That KO against Teper was a thing of beauty. If his shoulder doesn't let him down it would be fun to see him in a big fight.

I hope he starts training like a madman and wrings whatever's left out of his injury-ravaged body these next few years, because if he does we might see some crazy flatline knockouts once again. Kind of get the feeling this was his last hurrah, though. :(

The reactions of the audience was interesting, adams wife was sick and couldnt look when he got knocked down, the woman with the polish scarf and glasses in the back in the frame shot when adam knocked down, and heidi androll in shock at ringside. Crazy night, haymon loses again.

His wife physically threw up? That's an, erm, visceral reaction to a fight.
