Kownacki isn't that good. He was an exposure waiting to happen, and I'm glad that he lost so they couldn't feed Wilder another chump.

Kownacki already made it to contender. Yes, he beat Washington, and MORE importantly, he beat Martin. Szpilka wasn't bad either. He's already climbed high in a crowded division, and there is no reason he can't climb higher.

He doesn't "suck." He just doesn't. His volume alone GUARANTEES that he is always going to be a contender.

by the ways, congratulations to Robert Helenius, who was once a top contender, and now, finally is again. His career was on life support from injuries caused by a a promotor who threw him to the wolves when he wasn't fit to fight.

Only saw a few people who regarded him as a top 10 fighter, when it's pretty evident he's not a top 10 fighter and never will be. He like Arreola before him is top 20 material, gate keeper type.

 

Who has Martin beat that was actually any good though? The Glazkov win was gifted to him and so Washington is the best name on his record and let's be honest Washington is the PBC heavyweight whipping boy, every PBC heavyweight beats him to pad their record, he's the definition of a journeymen.

Szpilka is OK but he was never a contender, best wins old Adamek and Wach, whenever he's stepped up he's lost, even Chisora past his prime iced him in 2 rounds. Jennings too beat him and Jennings lost to Rivas and the novice Joyce. So again never a real contender, another fighter you use to pad your record. No power, glass chin, what's so great about Szplika?

Kownacki has found his level and it's in the lower half of the top 20, he'll never be a legit contender.

 

Yep, exactly, people see an exciting fighter like Arreola and Kownacki and think that translates into them being good fighters. Neither of them in their primes would beat Chisora now and he's a gatekeeper now.

 

BTW Glazkov bought a big rig with his money from Martin fight and now is a truck driver in US.
