Why don't Ggg Fight Callum next for the WBA super middleweight title?

Anyone else not really impressed with smith and have him as the most overrated current champion? I just don’t get it with Smith, what am I missing?

I'd be ok if Golovkin just walked away from the sport but if he keeps fighting I only want to see him against top fighters.

Look, he was a fantastic Middleweight Champion but didn't take any chances when he was in his prime. He was more than happy to beat up lesser opponents, build this reputation as a Tyson-esque thunder puncher that everyone feared and no one would fight while giving off this "good boy" vibe as a modest lunchpail fighter. He finally stepped up in 2017 and in those 6 fights he fought 4 top fighters and 2 (at best) gatekeepers. When he fought top guys, the KO's stopped.

Since getting jobbed in the first Canelo fight (I mean he had to have known he needed a stoppage. It isn't fair but that is boxing and it is NEVER, EVER going to change) he suddenly shows that he is a diva too and instantly won't speak english in interviews, etc. I actually never thought he was the nice, humble good-boy people said he was. How many fights did he have that the no-name lasted longer than people thought and he'd actually say in the post fight that he carried the guy for a few rounds...LOL. Then the Good boy refuses to do an interview after the fight... remember when JMM did that? And the heat he took?

Now he is supposed to fight some light punching 30 year old guy I have never heard of. He is a skilled and fun to watch fighter, but this guy never really chased greatness IMO. Rereading my post I know some will interpret it as hate, and try to say Golovkin was avoided in his prime, but that argument to me is baloney.

Doesn’t he still have to fight that guy nobody’s ever heard of to keep the IBF belt?

Abel Sanchez himself said Canelo deserved the win.

Come back from your pretend world.

You would think he would want to fight at 168 before facing Canelo there.

You would think DAZN would want him to enter the fight with a belt or at least a notable win at 168.

But nope, got to keep that IBF belt. Gets him one fight further into his monster DAZN contract with no risk so I don't blame him in that sense just mighty disappointing for a top fighter to still be wasting away so much time, still, after all these years.

You are lying, Abel Sanchez never said that. At best you are taking things out of context.

I agree with this but I would love to see GGG v Smith.
You would think that Hearn would push for a fight like this as I imagine it would be a huge event in the UK and I think GGG should take it as I believe he would win and be recognized as the man at 168 and it would make the Canelo rematch even bigger. Instead GGG is going to waste another camp against a IBF mandatory that is pointless as there is noway Canelo is going back to 160 IMO.

    Agree completely.

    I will also add:
It doesn't matter even if Canelo did come down to 160, which like you I believe that will never happen. But even if it did, who cares about the IBF belt at this point? Making a deal of it just lowers himself to a fighter who desperately cares about having a strap and keeping it despite doing so ruining potentially greater "legacy fights."

Yep a win would get GGG back up in the P4P rankings I actually think that he would break Smith down and stop him in the 10th round.

Exactly. Smith should move up himself. Maybe challenge a very faded Kovalev at 180lbs and try and make a name for himself at LHW.

Why hold onto a 168lb strap when lower tier fighters like John Ryder are beating you because you are so drained and fighting for short money?

No, you don’t have a reason to call Alvarez a fraud because Alvarez never gave you a reason. He gave Golovkin two free paydays and came out victorious. Get over it and move on. The only one that can easily be called a fraud is the Middleweight Champion who’s biggest fight/win to date is a blown up Welterweight.
