I was hype for this fight. I knew Haye speed and power would be problems for Enzo! I picked Haye to get the KO late rounds, but not an early 2nd round KO. My fantasy cruiserweight match is this version of Haye vs Usyk.
He sort of looks like him but he has hair loss at the Scott fight where as at the Haye fight which is close to 5years later the man looks much fuller on top. lol You're right but I meant from our point of view, if I was talking to Calzaghe I would say to his right.
Toupee, maybe? I figured aside from a blood relative of Macca he would be the only person that emotionally invested or distraught. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Enzo only had one loss when he fought Haye and that was an early loss to Lee Swaby when by all accounts he was hungover. It actually felt a little like an undefeated fight as both had lost in big upsets when they were relative novices. Enzo really suffered for Warren matchmaking in this one. Haye was going in with the likes of Mormeck and Fragomeni whilst Enzo was serving as chief support for a few Calzaghe fights by battering nobodies like Mohamed Azzaoui and Bobby Gunn. (To this day the worst legitimate world title challenger I’ve ever seen.)
Could be or a hair transplant. The way he walked off I thought he may have lost money but he may have been rushing to Maccarinelli's corner.
Fun fight...think Usyk's work rate might wear down Haye but Haye would land and big at some stage. Be interesting to see how well OU handles heavy. For me Haye flatted a bit at Cruister very very good fighter but didn't have loads of quality wins - same as at heavy. OY was a monster at Cruiser but at the mo I have a feeling he may not be a killer at HW (just based on ages and niggling injuries and the fact he's there to be hit)
It would depend on how he handled Haye’s power. I could see Haye stopping him in the first 6 rounds while Usyk is still working him out. It’s a 50/50 fight for me, hypothetically obviously. Haye was a lot better against people his size.
Haye fights like an animal, he has ultra instincts - his speed, timing, aggression is just superhuman. The complete package as a boxer. I think he would have given Usyk a hell of a fight at that time. Haye is a fast starter compared to Usyk, killer instinct from the first bell... just sheer intimidation the way he catches you with KO shots, and slick movement to avoid any counters... just drowns you in your own pool of physical inferiority.. you just feel like a helpless mouse... like a video game character that has been given 1 bar rating for speed and power against Haye's 5 bar ratings across the board.
I tend to recall the undercard bout featuring the guy in your avatar much more often. The main event was one of those that gets touted as a pick 'em in its time despite the principles being on quite perceptibly different levels, but it wasn't a hard one to call. Sad/funny memory of the fight – the pathos of poor Enzo's hairdo going weirdly askew within the first minute due to a series of right hands that whistled ominously over the top of his head, just seemed to sum up his tragicomic overmatchedness.
