Oh it is a stylistical thing. Still this version of Foreman prevails against Tyson, however Holmes probably beats this crappy version of george. 73 Foreman stops Holmes,he was much more aggressive
I actually see a late ko win for Foreman. George hits the canvas a couple of times and Tysons in command to start, but once it's obvious George is hanging in, then it's Mike getting hit and shaken up. It's a close up brawl and maul type fight and Foreman breaks lose in the last couple of rounds to stop him on his feet, along the ropes.
i also voted for Foreman KO. - Actually i see one scenario is like the Lyle fight. A punch trading brawl between 2 hard hitters. So both guys will have their moments but Foreman is likely to KO Mike ~Rd. 5-6. - The other scenario is: Big George gets maneuvered out by a signifficantly faster, pivoting and shifting Mike Tyson and got hit with his typical body-head combinations, which Tyson used often against opponents with similar hight like Foreman. Even the '96 Tyson was way faster than a prime fraizier or maybe faster than '74 Ali (overall not handspeed). So Big George will have problems with that. If Tyson can catch him early he maybe finish him off in 3-4 rounds. If he could not manage to clear things within 4-5 rounds, he probably will run out of steam, slow down and has to brawl with Foreman. So overall a KO win for Foreman is more likely: 60-70%.
It's a KO either way in the first 5 rounds. I'd lean towards Tyson's faster punches against Foreman's none existant defense but Foreman's uppercut is a good foil for a smaller Tyson. If Lyle is bouncing Foreman off the canvas you'd expect Tyson to but in turn Foreman can also catch Mike inside. What goes against Foreman is if Tyson's aggression backs him up and he loses his leverage because of that
Personally I see this fight the same way we saw Foreman defeat Frazier. Foreman not allowing Tyson to set his feet by pushing him off balance anytime he tries too. Nails him with uppercuts and overhand rights while his (Tyson) balance was off. Some fighters just have the perfect styles to beat certain styles. What Foreman did best, using that immense physical strength and natural power was perfect to beat short, aggressive, power punchers. Though Tyson was better skilled than Frazier, I don't believe he was as mentally tough. Tyson could get himself DQ before he got knocked out. It would be his way of keeping the inevitable from occurring.
I know. Prime George beats Tyson 96. I think 77 Foreman can beat 96 Tyson too imo. That's not the best Tyson.
I don't see much difference between the 2 versions. Foreman is 28 and in his prime in '77 and still manages to quiet easily stop Frazier and Lyle. Young was simply a style that he didn't match up well with.
Then you must be blind. The 74 version was an aggressive fast starter a slugger and the 77 version was a boxer-puncher more patient obsessed with showing that he could last a full fight and he had a different trainer not even close. And not , jimmy young is not beating a peak Foreman
Young may not beat Foreman 74, but he has a troublesome style for him. Foreman 77 is a little different to 74 Foreman, but the question here is not Young, but 96 Tyson. Would Foreman 77 beat Tyson 96? I believe he probably would, buddy.
