Didn't we have this last year? He fought Schwartz because he was scared of fighting Wilder. He fought Wallin because he was scared of Wilder. He ran to the WWE because he was scared of Wilder. That's what we had to endure on here last year. I've been watching Tyson since 2008 and I know all about him and his family. You don't need to hang on to every word in every interview. The fight will happen. It's Wilder again next, and AJ has to fight Pulev in June. The fight will happen either late this year or early next year. If you don't agree, then you're either very naive or you don't know the man.
I have no idea what any of that has to do with Fury telling us he’s not interested in AJ undisputed ? He’s named everyone but AJ ,even naming a CW from Australia or something now ? This isn’t a good sign ,I’m not sure how you get the fight will happen when everyone around Fury seems against it to .
It was an example of impatient boxing fans. Frustrated fans talking garbage. If you seriously think that Tyson doesn't want to fight AJ, then again, you don't know the man. He says whatever he wants in interviews. Again, I can pull you interviews where he told reporters he'd never fight Wilder again. When I see these interviews, they just make me smile. He likes to play with interviewers all of the time. It means absolutely nothing. Just relax. It's one of the biggest fights in the history of the division. He'll more than likely repeat this until he's actually free to negotiate.
I really don't see Fury fighting Ruiz any differently than AJ did in the rematch. Fury talked **** about AJ's performance because that's a thing they have. They talk **** about each other but underneath there's a deep respect there.
Fury signed rematch clauses with Wilder even bf the draw so he can’t not fight Wilder bc he’s legally blinded to the contract , he has signed nothing with AJ . I hope your right ,but I think Fury will pull a Wilder here . Being in a current fight don’t stop negotiations , even AJ fought Molina while negotiating with team Klitschko to get that fight made ,I see none of that going on .
No he didn't. The reason we didn't see an immediate rematch was there was no rematch clause for the first fight. Before they finalised the contract for the rematch, Fury signed with Top Rank and ESPN. Wilder fights on Showtime, so they had to agree to a co-promotion. This is why they fought other people
There was a rematch claus . You didn’t see the immediate rematch bc the fight ended in a draw so neither had any say on it ,so they renegotiated the contract after Arum got involved which stipulated the loser can only evoke the immediate rematch if he wants . Warren said it was a 3 fight deal before the first fight . Fury actually insisted he gets a rematch because he felt if he lost it would be because of ring rust and deemed that fair .
That's right. They're both contractually obligated to fight other guys. So who cares what he's saying to reporters at this stage? It's meaningless. And he likes to create controversy in order to amuse himself. Just yesterday, Bob Arum was interviewed about the fight, and he said "They've both got to win first" I'd bet my house on it. He's said numerous times that it's the reason he came back. There's no reason for anyone to think that it won't happen within the next 12-18 months.
No there wasn't That's not how rematch clauses work They didn't have a contract before Arum got involved The WBC was going to order purse bids. That's how much they didn't have a contract No he didn't
Why didn't Bowe v Lewis happen? Sometimes the big money fights just never happen. I don't think it'll happen here because there's really nobody else for either to fight. But it could.
Don't be silly. In what way are the circumstances the same? Yes, as fans, we've missed out on many big fights over the years. This won't be one of them. Anthony Joshua will fight anyone. Tyson has proved that he'll fight anyone. He dropped 10 stone and fought Wilder after 2 tune ups, after 3 years of inactivity. He was almost knocked out, yet he's just beaten him in a rematch. Both fighters want the fight. It's one of the biggest fights in the history of the sport, for every belt. It will happen.
Fury has already proven that he will fight anyone if the money is right. He beat Wlad, Wilder, and it was Haye that pulled out of two fights with him. He would fight Godzilla if the zeros on the check were right. There is no doubt whatsoever that he will go for the lower risk in the money is the same, like taking Kingpin Johnson over Thompson, but Joshua is the money fight, so you will see it made. But the way, Joshua is all man in my book, and I think the fight will happen.
