If Frank had hit the Bonecrusher fight stage of his career in around 69, how many title shots does he get in the 70 s?
And how long does he actually go on fighting?

Like most of the 70's contenders, Lyle, Bugner, Young etc... Bruno gets one go. He could have carried on for years in the UK and Europe given the dearth of quality available.
Veteran Frank would get stopped by young, hungry John L Gardener around 1978.

Given the politics of the era, he would probably get one title shot, unless he significantly upped his game after that.

He'd more than likely get a shot at either, Frazier the champ or Ali on the comeback trail.
    Ali stops him in 10.
    Frazier stops him in 7.
Maybe he then takes on a young, unbeaten Foreman?
Foreman stops him in 4 very one sided rounds.
I only see him getting one Crack at the title, maybe 2, if Ali decides to fight him post 1974. He'd be a decent contender but loses to Norton, Lyle, Shavers and yes.. A young Joe Bugner.

Bruno in the 70s would have been even more mediocre

I'm not sure he would get even one. He probably would hold the British and Commonwealth title, that's about all. I can see him as a possible opponent for Ali after 74, he would be one of Ali's softer opponents though.

bruno was managed very well and carefully matched until he faced the big guns. I see no reason why he doesnt get 2 cracks at the title seeing as he did bring money and support. Maybe a frazier fight and an early Ali defence around 75 although it would be somewhat harder to negotiate a path back then as the top 10 by and large was fairly stacked.

If it was now he'd get a shot every 2 weeks.

He'd fit in between Frazier and Norton for Ali's title defense s. An easyish fight after a life and death struggle in mannila and followed by Norton pushing him to the limit again.
Bruno wouldn't trouble Ali as such imo, tho he may win a few rounds with his heavy Jab and Ali laying back, taking it easy.
But Muhammed steps it up when it's looking like Bruno s totting up the point s.

August - Bruno get s stopped by Ruiz.
November - Bruno gets stopped by Wilder.
