The version of Rahman, that kod LL Against Charles that soundly beat Joe Louis? 15 rounds. Who gets the win?
Well Rahman ain't in the same league of fighter as Charles, but at heavyweight he is at a disadvantage against some bigger fighters. I'll take a prime Ezzard to outbox him and stay out of trouble. But he has to be slick for the distance.
Tough size matchup for Charles. But, gun to my head, I think Charles outboxes Rahman. P4P, Charles was 10 times the fighter Rahman was.
One can clearly see that charles is the better fighter of the two . although styles If the rahman that showed vs Lewis shows up Id pick rahman over charles to stop him
If we're actually quantifying it, take it that Charles is a top 10 P4P staple and that Rahman doesn't sniff top 100, Charles would actually be more than 10 times the fighter, P4P!
The Rahman that showed up for Lewis I was no different than the Rahman that showed up for Lewis II. Big difference was that Lewis actually took the second fight seriously. And, when he did, it was an annihilation. Nobody bothered with a rubber match after such a one sided destruction.
That doesn't actually follow. Exactly. And it'd not like Rahman beat Lewis up - he just caught him with a single punch and knocked him out. If shot, 40 y.o. Holyfield battered Rahman so badly, Charles would definitely have a chance
I'm lost. I have Charles at #4 P4P. Rahman isn't top 40. That, to me, means Charles is more than 10x the fighter P4P than Rahman. I'm also quite comfortable in staying that as long as Charles is in the top 10, he's still at least 10 times, since Rahman isn't too 10.
Your right George, on a p4p basis, Rahman doesn't get a look in. Charles had that quality about him that made him such a classy fighter. Really there should be no doubt s but it's that damn heavyweight division again that sometimes pisses on class. The actual fight itself, I'd give Charles more chances of winning than a lot of people, I don't read to much in to the size thing But, got be cautious with Rahman. He may have been a one hit wonder against Lewis but there was a little more to him than that. If Ezzard gets drawn in to a good old toe to toe, then he could be his own worst enemy.
Not so much style just size difference I don't think charles has the power to keep rahman off where lewis did
