firstly he was not solely unique...
secondly he was far from alone...
thirdly there were literally HUNDREDS of Great Skilled and STYLISH Fighters in 150 Years of Boxing, Thousands.

Hundreds of Thousands of Fighters, some BOXERS, some Fighters, some Box/Fighters...

so YES, of course, Thousands... you think in a 150 years Jones was the ONLY 1st Class Boxer, Slick Mover, STYLIST...

there are Fringe Contenders and Journeymen who were/are Stylist, who came up short for a multitude of reason - Not Good Enough, Not good enough on the Night, Never got the right breaks, chance, management, LEFT the Sport, Got Sick, DIED, loads of reasons.

When did I say that Roy was the ONLY 1st class boxer that ever existed? Of course he wasn't. I'm not even saying, he was THE most athletic boxer of all time - but, surely, he must be right up there with the best of them. To say that there were thousands that could compare with him if we're talking speed, reflexes, athleticism - that's just silly.

 

Respect and I understand fully what you say.

I'm just stating that he is FAR from alone.

I hate how Boxing gets LOST on Elevating some, while at the same time, not just Excluding, Dismissing or Eliminating other fighters, but also erroneously claim that this Champion and/or this Contender beats such & such a fighter, yet KNOWING Such n such fighter, lived at a better time, participated in many more higher level bouts, limited opportunities, owing to sheer numbers of competitors, less title opportunities, corruption, ownership and all the unfortunate variables of Boxing...

it isn't just Wrong, it actually belittles Boxing and insults, some great fighters...

i.e FURY is the Greatest HW Now, surpassing, FAR,FAR more talented fighters.

Fury said himself he's not an athlete by any measure. Putting him in the same class as Ali and Jones is ridiculous
