Is there a chance lack of interest could kill Fury-Wilder III?

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by catchwtboxing, Mar 12, 2020.

Can the fight be killed financially?

  1. Yes. They fight for money, and if the money isn't there, they might walk.

    34.4%
  2. Nope. We are stuck with this whether we like it or not.

    65.6%

I read that the first fight lost money.

    So, probably.

Would love a rematch waved off let's be honest, can't see much changing as regards to the fight.

Wilder can go fight a few he's swerved ( so everyone any good)

Fury should fight Whyte before Joshua. Whyte has been waiting long enough. Too long times not on his side. See Fury winning that then AG TF

But it will be one sided, Wilder should have some fights first to prove to the public he has fixed his footwork flaws.

Wow, maybe Wilder will start saying he had an early case of Corona on a sectret trip to that Chines place as an excuse.

Lol swear I sore a thread earlier from a wilder fan saying maybe he had corona. Bet he wishes he'd thought of that before coming out with the costume excuse

Too late to fix anything at this point. This is his fighting style and has served him well enough to make him a reigning Champion for 5 years straight. He has his flaws, like all fighters before and after him, and that's how it goes. A third fight will be exciting because everything can change with one punch from Wilder, as proven. That one punch will keep you on your toes as you are watching whether you think you will or not. That's why it will remain exciting to watch these guys fight again. I'd rather see Fury vs Joshua, and I'm sure you're with me there. But if that's what we're forced to get, it's definitely not bad.

The rematch should have sold 1M, but it fell short. If they did lose money on it, then they may not go ahead with the third fight

The interest could be there, but both fighters need to be let of the leash during the build up. They have the potential to be a very entertaining couple and Deontay really needs to push the heel side of his character to get any interest. Till this day.

But will you PAY for it?

Thanks for this because a lot of well-meaning people are ignoring/misunderstanging the meaning of this thread.

It is not if you will watch it, or enjoy it, or think it is necessary, it is considering what will happen in the likely event that they can't sell it high enough for the fighters to make the money they want.

    And again...thanks!

Fury is gonna tear him to pieces at the media build ups and head to head table. It’s a fore gone conclusion fury will beat him.

Likewise, but still I never knew if a single shot from Wilder could change everything in a split second. It became obvious that Wilder was hurt and has no hope to generate any power whatsoever from round 4 onwards. It's a similar case in the first fight. I knew that Fury had this in the bag from round 1 easily then he got caught and dropped twice.

It's just needless, if Wilder decisively won the first fight I'd see the point. But realistically he got beat twice, in both boxing and in fighting. Don't get me wrong, Wilder could potentially win the third fight with a punch but what does that prove? He won one out of three because he managed to land his right? Do we need a fourth fight then? This Wilder saga has been closed in everyone's mind.

Fury-Joshua is what everyone's thinking about. I think it'd be better if Wilder fight happened after those two prove who's the best.
