This thread is focusing on raw-power only, so its definitely not emphasizing how great of a puncher Julian Jackson was. Julian Jackson had one-time KO Power PLUS excellent use of angles & a natural-hunter ambush mentality. The best ambush Puncher of all time, his style got him beat in the biggest 3 fights of his career, but it was vs the best.

Julian Jackson three losses in his prime were:
    • G-Man 4" range advantage violated Julian defense, the ambush doesn't work with best Finisher
    • McCallum possibly GOAT @154 himself was a high-IQ practitioner, the poison got to Julian Jackson first

A perfect punch from a solid Welter can KO a non-responsive Heavyweight, which is usually the case with heavyweight KOs, but few small boxers can get into that position without getting KOed first. It takes special skills to KO Heavyweights early (while being shorter). Tyson did it via defense, in his undefeated career nobody was able to catch him perfectly clean, All heavyweights are able to drop an exposed opponent with one punch, but the problem is usually how to set-up the punch, Tyson even in his shadow-of-himself version was still able to slip & land a perfect punch here and there, mainly to his instinctive knowledge. He was underrated as a High-IQ+educated boxing mind who was able to run defense/offense in the same moment without losing control (in his prime), Mike Tyson was never really heavy handed when it came to one punch raw power (for heavyweights), excellent skills, intimidation, speed, match-making...All aligned, there will never be another Mike Tyson again

Most shorter boxers who get rated as raw punchers, are really highly skilled boxers who can get in range & always get to their victims first. Iron Mike Tyson fall in this category.

Artur Beterbiev is highly skilled very tough boxer he hits as hard as Sergey Kovalev (high raw power, but not exceptional for 175), he uses his skills-toughness combination to push fights immediately into an unbearable zone, it will take a very fast-paced rangy puncher to stop Artur Beterbiev tyranny early in the fight. Thinking boxers will always get beat-down while they are trying to figure out how to end the night-mare of sharing the ring with Artur.

Inoue has raw power plus improved Body-punchingwhich is helping him along with power into Bantam
Wilder has raw power plus awkwardness, if Wilder punched from more predictable angles, he will still be lethal but less lethal

I think Beterbiev's one of the hardest punchers I've ever seen at 175. His raw power is freakish, way higher than Kovalev's (though Kovalev gets good leverage on a lot of his shots). It's like comparing Marciano and Dempsey.

    Darnell Boone = Earnie Shavers

Shavers will probably be able to drop all Fury-Wilder-Joshua opponents, but he will do it taking much bigger risks (that cause him to lose many fights in the process)

It takes 300psi to start a TBI, at 600psi the toughest oak-legged man falls, so Shavers simply made it his plan to drop opponents at any cost, he got his wish & paid the price! Boone also made a name for himself doing the same, perhaps even more skillful.

The Raw Power boxers, have the advantage of being able to thumb opponents using their physical advantage without landing perfectly, so when Wilder punch is deflected by 50% he still KOs his opponents, many times without getting in Range due to speed-Reach. Shavers has to go all in, land the perfect counter at 70% impact (requires exceptional timing skills ala JMM TKO6), but Shavers did it...It worked fine, very few boxers will be able to have the same timing (lots of brave journeymen try get lucky once, but few have the skills to time it on a regular basis)

The list reflects raw one-punch power only, successful punchers don't need to have ATG one-punch KO power...it helps, but not always. Edwin Valero P4P was about the same level as Artur Beterbiev, but they were not exceptionally high on the P4P one-punch KO power, mainly because they used skilled-aggression. Valero hurt opponents because he was always set at max-power & he developed his style around that....Artur Beterbiev is capable at punching at full-power at any moment...probably trains for that, very few boxers can do it without getting KTFO in the process.

    What a load of horsesh*t.

Absolutely no way to quantify any of this information. It is pure guesswork and opinion, and frustrating to even try to make sense of.

Clarity is required on boxers power imo. The power of punchers like Shavers, Foreman, Lewis, Klitschkos, Jackson, Duran, Inoue is pure.
Tysons power instead stayed in his speed, rage and his ability to surprise his opponents.
As to Wilders power it stays in the accuracy of his aim (to the tip of the chin) and his maniacal search for the right arrangement of legs, shoulders and distance from his opponents. Sometimes he can take even many rounds to knock someone out if hes not able to find the right measure for his right hand.

Oliver McCall could withstand a 1500 PSI punch. Tex Cobb a 1650 PSI punch. George Chuvalo 1700 PSI punch.
