So now you are blaming him for having size lol . I can say thats the same reason klitschkos had success and blame them on size as well
It's really bothersome to me when people state someone is overrated or underrated WITHOUT STATING HOW THEY RATE THE GUY. I personally rate Lewis as a top 10 ATG at HW. Ok, now tell me if you think I over or under rated him.
Holyfield wasn't even the best boxer in his own house. Rumour has it that Evan Field was twice the fighter, if only he could be found https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/evander-holyfields-evan-fields-investigation-update.612058/
Well, well, well... if it isn’t the guy that was sending me countless racist and xenophobic abusive messages to my inbox. And you have the cheek to imply that I am a racist?!?! The audacity of your backwards mentality is surreal. How the hell are you not banned permanently? You were banned for a 1 week maybe? Unbelievable. Nevertheless, Lennox Lewis, by way of clean punches and damaging punches, got Vitali's face to a stage where the fight HAD to be stopped. The evidence is clear, you can go watch the fight again if you can stomach it, those cuts, welts and lumps on Vitali's face were caused by punches and not headbutts. Lennox Lewis legitimately busted up Vitali's face and CAUSED the stoppage. That is the very definition of TKO. The other fighter (Vitali) is in no position to fight on. The fight is over. TKO. There was absolutely no victory for Vitali that night, he ate too many punches for that to be the case. Stop making excuses for Vitali. Stop lying to yourself. It was a tough competitive fight, both fighter's had success but Lennox Lewis clearly had more success. "a CUT!" I think you mean a number of cuts, welts and so on. That face looked like a real mess, bits dangling off here and there... It was a legitimate stoppage to the highest degree. It was also a legitimate win for Lennox Lewis. I would have liked to see a rematch but it was the end of Lennox Lewis career. He retired an ATG on the back of a great victory. This is no slight on Vitali, he fought like a true champion and is a tough competitor for almost all ATG heavyweights.
Yeah, everyone is overrated and nothing is special out there. Everyone is on your level of nothingness, don't worry. Now sleep healthier tonight and any time reality checks are slapping you, read this post again.
Holyfield was never taken out early by scrubs in the heart of his career, like Lewis was. Oh, and he also fought all the top guys in his era when it matter, other than Lewis of course, who waited until Holyfield was past his best to face him. Just like he did with Tyson.
He's considerably overrated in some quarters, yes. Definitely not Top 3 material. I don't see how anyone could rate him over Foreman, for a start.
Lennox Lewis is of course a great, but the Vitali Klitschko fight was an incredibly lucky event. The "punch" he landed to cause the cut was a grazing punch that ripped the skin, not even a clean blow. Very fortunate. Vitali Klitschko would have won that and he begged him for a rematch, with the pompous Lennox Lewis even coming to his following fights, for no reason other than ego.
We don't know if Vitali would have won it. He was beggining to tire. Lewis retired because he decided that he wanted to spend time with is newborn son. Had noting to do with Vitali, and nor did he owe Vitali anything. We all would have liked to have seen the rematch, but that was not a foregone conclusion either.
It's not Lewis' fault he didn't fight Bowe, it's Bowe's. Bowe himself is overrated because he didn't fight anybody other than Holyfield. Him and Tyson agreed never to fight and he ran scared from Lennox because the thought of Lennox pounding his face in like he did at the Olympics gave him PTSD flashbacks
It was certainly in keeping of Lennox Lewis' well known arrogance and pompousness to stalk Vitali Klitschko around for a while following that bout. He was lucky and he knew it. People say that it was a short notice opponent, but it was the same for Vitali Klitschko. The outcome of that fight and the aftermath rubbed me up the wrong way because I was a big fan of Vitali Klitschko and knew that there would not be another opportunity to compete against someone of Lennox Lewis' stature in the new era.
