HAWK TIME (by p4p ATG list I mean the list of greatest fighters to ever fight, pound for pound. Based off resume and skill) Personally I have him in the top 15, right around 12 or so. 39-1 with 35 KOs don't lie. Beat Tommy Hearns in the amateurs, the Hitman wouldn't fight him pro and neither would Ray Leonard... getting ducked by two ATG must make you a bad mofo, right? If you need some reminder on how good he was, watch his first fight against Alexis Arguello - he brawled and outboxed in that one. His style was 'reckless' in a sense that he kept on coming in, but it worked and he knew how to outbox. The dude was strong. I might be over ranking him since he is one of my favorites, so I made this thread to see where you guys rank him.
I don't think that's really low when you consider all the great fighters we've had, honestly. I don't know what you mean by GOAT'ed exactly? You mean he's the greatest 140-pounder or what? Awesome fighter anyway.
I was joking. I love Pryor and think him a great fighter. I think he could do it all. There are just soooo many fighters great the last 150 yrs that placing anyone is very hard.
No, Goat'ed simply means a goat, not the goat. He is definitely one of the greatest 140 lbers, and I think he fought a little lighter than that sometimes.
Aaron Pryor ******* blew it, It's that simple.. I really feel bad for the guy because of his contract structure ... But he had SRL and he passed on it, he had Duran and he passed on it.... He is not a top 100 guy because he just doesn't have the resume for it .. I will take Napoles, McFarland, Mayweather over him at 140 anyway .. Prime Cervantes is a great fight also .. And I'm sure I'm leaving others out .. Pea would School him at 140
He proved against Alexis he was a great fighter and he had a lot of heart. Incredible, yet his resume is lacking. We all seem to know how great he would have been had he been able to fight more great fighters. There would have been some surprises.
