I think Roy dominates. If a small and super rusty Leonard was able to eat Hagler's body shots and flurry off the ropes, That was Roy's specialty I think he could even stop Hagler standing like he did Merqi Sosa

I lean towards RJJ but beating a prime Hagler would be one of the greatest feats imaginable.

Hagler at his peak stops RJJ at his peak in my opinion. In my teens l remember Hagler as being virtually unbeatable. Leonard’s speed beat a post-peak Hagler. Jones has speed but would get worn down by the relentless, punch perfect Marvelous one.

Hagler wouldn't give an inch and there is only so much room in a boxing ring...

I think Jones could speed his way to a decision. Can't remember him looking like gassing in his prime. Sure Hagler would put more pressure on but Hagler faded in one or two as well.

Hagler can take a punch? How old are you? Marvin hagler had one of the best chins of all time

Can take a punch = he has a great chin
Roy has some power in his shots, they will bother him, won't drop him but will definately shift momentum

No it is not the same. The expression "can take a punch" is like saying he has decent chin or a good one. But he has one of the best chins ever. And you added "he can take a punch but he would have to respect his power"

Doesn't matter to me, he can take a punch literally means he can take a punch
Yeah, exaggerated that one for sure but he can't let Roy just go loose on him either. Surely it will throw him off rhythm the same way it did with Toney

Jones for me. His chin was never an issue at 160 pounds and he easily out pointed Hopkins and Toney, both of who are better defensively than Hagler and difficult to beat on points. Hagler would need a knockout here.

Actually Hagler gave away too many inches, and didn't engage enough at times. He should have pressed Leonard and Duran more, but didn't. Jones hit harder than those guys, and might have the fasted pair of hands at middle, either him or Taylor.

    He's not out boxing Jones.

Yeah he didn't engage with Thomas Hearns at all let Tommy walk circles around him in the ring and practically let the hitman outbox him every round.

He had no choice but to engage Hearns, and Jones doesn't fight like that at all.
