Writer debunks "The Four Who Baffled Liston Article"

"I'm going to be giving it a rest soon, I'm not enjoying it anymore and haven't for some time.There are just too many idiots here now, and it seems a new one surfaces every week.
The quality of poster has taken a drastic down turn in the last 2 years and some fine posters no longer bother.
I've learned quite a bit here from various posters and am grateful to them.But I find making threads increasingly unrewarding, when you have pedantic trolls who only want to derail your threads while contributing nothing themselves.
I also find myself getting frustrated with the lack of even rudimentary knowledge from some of the recent ones.It's certainly no crime to not be up to speed with the subject, but these newer guys ignore facts and just incessantly repeat the same fan boy garbage .I shall be travelling for the best part of March first the South of France ,then the Carribean so it will be a good opportunity to take a hiatus.
I wish all the good guys the very best ,they know who they are , as for the dross, I can only hope they improve,but I find the prospect exceedingly doubtful .I'll look in from time to time, but I think my time as a regular here is now limited."
Get someone to explain the word HIATUS to you. This is yet another example of you derailing a thread to attempt to score some pathetic point.I wonder you weren't ****ed off years ago for ballsing up people's threads.I'd recommend a bullet in the brain for you,but there would be no target to aim at!

Mama Mojo's niece said from behind the counter, shakily holding a carafe of coffee or some type of strong, dark tea. Liston twinkled his eyes at us and began to laugh and winked at me. He knew what I was thinking. I was thinking, 'Man, he gon' die maybe.' But he was thinking something else. Anyway. That's just a story for you. The Mojo family were aboriginal.

 

You mean SI said nothing about Machen clearly having one arm useless in the fight? Please link the article because that's vital information missing in that case.

From memory I think that one of them said that Liston overbalanced with his jab, which meant he couldn't follow up with the right. Ali had a pretty easy time leaning away from or slipping his jab and there where few rights coming afterwards. And in the rematch Ali of course put him down when he overbalanced with the jab.

A more hazy recollection is that someone said that Liston wasn't great at cutting off the ring and he was certainly inept at this against Ali.

Literally all I’ve said on this thread is The guy debunking the SI article says Whitehurst was “pitifully unskilled”and that in my opinion fighters can comfortably win decisions whilst still being baffled by their opponents.

By the way, the four who baffled Liston is a very good article.
