U can stop patronizing, u know damn well what I meant. The vast majority of modern HW's (past 30-40 years) weigh around 215 or more.
My point was that Shavers only KO'd lighter HW's, yet when they got bigger, his so called "power punch" was useless.
From 1966 onwards, Ali weighed roughly between 212 and 215 pounds. In the 70's, he weighed about 220 or even more.
In his peak years, Holmes weighed around 220.
Liston weighed around 213 at his best.
As for Frazier, no, he is not a proper HW weight size.
Neither was Holyfield. But he started being on the juice and bulked up.
But neither had the frame of a natural HW.

I think Joe Louis is the most pure puncher of all the heavyweights.
By that I mean the combination of speed, accuracy and technique.
I think he’s without equal, maybe Tyson comes close.
Did others hit with more actual power? Maybe, although even on that score it could be close.
However if we’re talking about the greatest puncher, then he’s the man.

If were talking just one punch power , Louis may not have hit much harder than a contemporary, Max Baer. But EFFECTIVE power, and what I mean by that is a fighter able to land , any punch ( with exception of a jab) from any angle, any distance, and still have the power, to take a opponents head off regardless of size. Their was no one better than Louis in my opinion. I've seen almost every ranked heavyweight from Louis era to Wilders. I haven't seen any Heavyweight yet that had the total offensive skill and power level of prime Joe Louis..... But Tyson in his prime was very, very close.

Louis power is absolutely on the level. Top ten for sure. But the combo of his power and speed and combos is what made him so great. Wilder and shavers have more power but both lacked certain fundamentals that Louis had. Making them less effectibe

His KO-Power is not on the level of Baer, Foreman but it still is very underrated. His two best one-punch KOs were not caught on film( Uzcudun and nOVA.)

He hit Buddy Baer so hard that he sent him spinning to the canvas. If AJ or Wilder caught a 6'6 250 pound top rated contender with a short right hand and sent him spinning to the canvas in HD color, we would be worshiping at the altar of their punching power.

For once you are on the side of a pre 1960's heavyweight. I'm proud of you Seamus! You're on your way!

How many Louis fights are on film?
Retzlaff, Schmeling 1&2, Carnera (poor quality), Uzcudon (poor quality), John Henry Lewis (poor quality), Godoy 1&2, Farr, Baer, Sharkey, Walcott 1&2, Charles, Marciano, maurielo, conn 1&2, abe Simon, Buddy Baer, Levinsky, rampage, ettore, Mann, Burman, paycheck, Brion, ogramonte, breshore, Savold,

    the exhibition with pat valentino

is that all of them? I may be missing a few off top of my head. Why wasn’t their film of nova? Theatres didn’t want it? Are their any films out there of him not available to general public? Klompton would know. Would love to see more of Louis.

I know damn well what you said. It's right there for all to see.

Shavers had the power but not so much the ability and stamina. It's no big secret. He just wasn't that good but by god did he hit hard.

    In 1966 Ali weighed 214 1/2, 201 1/2, 209 1/2, 204 1/4 and 212 3/4. He did not hit 215 once.

In 1967, his peak, he weighed 212 1/4 and 211 1/2. Again he did not hit 215. Peak Ali was under 215 and it's not even debatable.

Sure he got fat during the 70's and heavyweights come in heavier as they age anyway.

Rubbish. In his biggest fights in his peak he weighed 210, 209, 210 and 211 1/2. Even as late as Cooney he was 212 1/2. Around 212 was Holmes preferred weight at his peak. As he aged he had to come in heavier to be at his best.

In the famed Williams fights Liston was 212 1/2 both times. Machen was 211. The Floyd fights were 213 and 215 1/2.

Liston as well as Holmes and Ali was not a 215 pounder at his peak which you even admit.

Frazier not a proper heavyweight size? Did pretty damn good for a non heavyweight, Jesus H Christ.

No idea what Holyfield did with the juice, or when. Maybe some of these guys you consider "real" heavyweights were juiced to the gills? Holyfield certainly did ok for himself.
