He is brilliant. Even his 2nd bro fight was a mini war.

After Moon, you could check out Shoji Oguma, who I think you've saw a bit of. Gutsy, skilled southpaw. Has some awesome fights with Park.

Yeah, I was planning on watching him vs Jiro and Canto. I could watch them too though. Was the Gonzalez fight any good?

I think they had 3, and had a different result each time, with a draw, TKO for Laciar and a decision for Roman!

Thats one I never caught up with, but knowing both, it should be entertaining at the least.

Well, I'm quite happy with what I've seen from Moon, but there's a few fights which I want to see but aren't available.

I'll get started with Oguma next!

A two-way technical fight for the ages and a fitting pass of the torch!

Román was as skilled as I remember, although this fight was much better than my memory led me to believe. Jiro was better than I remembered here too, I only had him winning two rounds last time and thought he was fairly docile. I was wrong! This was a brisk, fluid fight with ebs and flows whilst the par fought at all ranges.

Jiro probably had a little more to offer after this. Since this was a comprehensive win, albeit a competitive fight, I can see Román doing this to a prime Jiro but I'll have to watch more than just the first Poontarat fight.

Román's workrate was actually the most telling factor, imo. Whilst out-boxing Jiro, he threw a ridiculous amount which let him secure close rounds and technical exchanges.

Wow! What a fight! Courtesy of @roughdiamond. Damn. That action was insane, this was an electric style clash.

Park did seem hesitant to lead, but when they exchanged at mid-range, he wasn't arsed about letting his hands go in the slightest. Oguma showed genuinely elite skills, and an excellent chin. His slick defence and educated lead was really hard for Park to succeed against since Oguma was the one who dictated what range they fight at, and Park only bested him at mid.

The KO was moreso from an explosive body shot in the 8th and an accumulation of punishment, but the right hook which backed him into the corner was as textbook as it gets.

Glad you watched it. The second does exist (@Tin_Ribs has seen it - apparently Park showed uncommon heart and was robbed) but it is rare / not available at the moment. The third is on the Tube though.

I'm still on my hunt to hit the controversial decisions during the 'stay-at-home' period. Today, its the Larry Holmes v Carl 'The Truth' Williams bout. I watched it back in the day and just tabulated it in my head roughly at the time and I had it a draw. But now, pen-to-paper, Larry doesn't make out that well.

    Round 1: 10-10 Even
    Round 2: 10-9 Williams
    Round 3: 10-9 Williams
    Round 4: 10-10 Even
    Round 5: 10-9 Williams
    Round 6: 10-9 Williams
    Round 7: 10-9 Holmes
    Round 8: 10-9 Williams
    Round 9: 10-9 Holmes
    Round 10: 10-9 Williams
    Round 11: 10-9 Williams
    Round 12: 10-9 Holmes
    Round 13: 10-9 Williams
    Round 14: 10-9 Holmes
    Round 15: 10-9 Holmes

    Total: 145-142 Williams

I'm not one to give points for reputation as Ferdie Pacheco drones on throughout the contest. One has to earn it IMO. Actual scores were 143-142 and 2 scores of 146-139 all for Holmes. There is simply no way anyone could give Holmes that fight on those last two scores. That is 11-4 in rounds, which simply no one with any shred of knowledge or decency could come up with. Holmes was clearly outpointed in this bout, IMO. Moreover, I looked at the two judges who scored the bout lopsidedly for Holmes. And its interesting to note, Paul Gibbs was participating in his 6th judging assignment and Al Rothenberg I knew as Pernell Whitaker's hand-picked referee that he took with him everywhere. In a nutshell, Williams had a right to feel like he was mugged.

George the fact that you had it so close tells me you were scoring it earnestly despite the disparity in some of our rounds. I think I really just had an issue with the 2 scores of 146-139.
