Lennox's jab was a thing of beauty and often was the inertia breaker that started his opponents rolling down hill. It had snap and leverage from the floor up. Where do you rank with the likes of Foreman and Liston and Wlad? This content is protected
Holmes Liston Foreman Wlad Lewis Louis Tyson Thomas Norton Holy As far as power jabs go. Yes I consider Holmes having a power jab when he wanted to. His was that versatile.
Lewis' jab was his most versatile weapon imo. He thudded with it like Liston, just a little less, and had mastery over it like Holmes, just a little less. It completed him as a fighter, since it obviously proceeded his right.
I think his jab rates up there with any of them in terms of power. And his Jab IQ was also tops, knowing when to use it as a range finder (tapping or pawing), how to lull his opponent into the proper position, and his timing with guys on retreat...
His jab was amazing. Really knew how to use his height. I don’t think was as strong as Foreman or Listons but somewhere in the middle of Foreman Liston and Ali Holmes as far as speed and power are concerned
How come there isn't one of those videos for Wlads jab? There's one for Pinky Thomas.. Pinky done what Lewis and Wlad couldn't and stopped a guy with a jab. That guy he floored was unable to beat the count. Pinkys jabs was eons greater than WKs jab. This content is protected
Top 5-8 jab in heavyweight history, though the problem with highlight videos is the misleading effectiveness of his jab. Lewis a lot of times was very tentative with his jab( Like he always expected it to be crossed) he pawed quite a bit also. And a bad habit of dropping it to his waist after he used it. A great counter puncher wouldve taken advantage of these habits.
I think many fans don't understand the jab. Landing the jab and setting up punches is more important than it being a power jab although a power jab is also handy to have. Lennox rates highly, he isn't as fast as Holmes/Ali/Wlad but he is pretty fast and it had a load of weight behind it. Foreman's is nowhere near as skilled
