What happens to a prospect boxer after they lose a fight to a journeyman ?

    Perfect example of this was Mike Jones getting laid out by Randall Bailey. Wasn't a top prospect, but he did rack up a few decent wins. After Bailey his stock dropped, and now no one really talks about him.

    Just checked boxrec, he lost one fight afterwards in 2014 and hasn't fought since.

    Tell that to Conor Benn! Seriously I can't wait to clean up as soon as he finds the stones to fight at British Title or European level. It won't be pretty.

    He has a famous surname and Sky Sports hyping him up. Skill wise he's hot garbage and he's not especially athletic either. He was lucky to get a decision over French journeyman Cedric Peynaud IMO.

    In a lot of cases the judges have a so called "off day" and award the W to the prospect anyway.
