Didn’t watch but just reading this article:
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/52006750

I don’t see too many fighters leaving boxing though, mainly because they won’t be able to get other jobs in the meantime. Except maybe stacking shelves to make ends meet in the meantime.

The BBBoC should start a fund for these fighter. The likes of Sky, DAZN, Hearn, Joshua, Fury, Khan etc could put pocket change into a fund that can help domestic level fighters feed their families.

If this issue goes on past the Summer this really will affect Matchroom- they will have no money coming in from ticket sales, PPV etc plus Sky will be asking for some of their rights fees back.

I’ve always said Matchroom has a far too large stable for the UK- it’s inevitable that the lower end fighters/prospects will be released if there isn’t boxing on soon.

What Frank/Mick does if this carries on could be far more dire although both of them do seem to have a way of soldiering on whatever happens.

On that note seen Scott Fitzgerald tagging Eddie coz he hasn’t sorted the loan he promised him. But agree, rather than paying for Robert Smith’s lunches how about setting up a fund for fighters.

On the subject of the British Board they should be extending everyone’s licenses by 6 months free of charge, but still have medicals on time as that’s a safety issue.........without fighters they will go bust too as they depend on their annual renewals to stay in business.

The Board operates on a shoestring and don't forget, Robert is from a Boxing family and was a pro himself. All they can do is co-ordinate and distribute voluntary contributions. The next problem is what that would do to the part time lads around British Title level. Hardly fair is it ?

shoe string the lot of them are corrupt chancers bleeding the sport dry!!
my mate Kieran Farrell puts on quality little shoes where he invests 18k minimum and doesn’t make a penny because he has the likes of the officials of the boxing board claiming 200-250 quid expenses for one nights work on top of there handsome wage of minimum 200 pounds and there free hotel accomadation!

Kieran can’t even pay some of his fighters more than 500 quid but the officials think 500-600 quid for a couple of hours work on top of free accommodation is fair game !

Sadly, as I've said on other threads on more than one occaision, this is the case for all local promoters around the country, Errol Johnson here in the Midlands, Steffy Bull in South Yorkshire and the Neilsons in the South West. Most people only see the big shows or know the Fighters on contracts with salaries.
On another note, I'm pleased to hear Kieran Farrell is still involved in the sport and I wish him all the very best.
