Let's be clear and honest about tyson fury's h2h skill. this man h2h has a chance to beat any heavyweight in history at least once. I'm not being a fanatic because I include my idol Foreman. Fury could avoid his power and get ahead of Foreman's powerful but predictable punches. if you ask me and you want to know what i think honestly, only lewis for his combination of size, speed and power would be a safe bet against fury and even against lewis he has a chance. Mike Tyson is too small and short to hit with his full power, mike should manage to get in and out lightning fast for 12 rounds and I don't see this happening. Frazier would do better because he worked the body much better by pressing and Fury is not a power puncher. Holmes and Ali would have a more difficult stylistic combat than many believe. if Ali were 6'5 then he would say Ali wins with his eyes closed but measuring 6'3 and considering his style it would not be an easy fight for Ali. Holmes would have thiS even more difficult than Ali because he is more static. curiously I see sonny Liston having a good style to face Fury because Fury would respect much more the power of Liston that he would do for example against Holmes. Joe Louis might knock him out in the last rounds while he is losing on the cards, the only guy who i would give a chance to knock Fury out it is Joe Louis cause his combination of height enough to reach him, power, accuracy, speed, skill and combinations.
Riddick Bowe would be outboxed all the night and would lose by wide ud. Evander would be in tremendous stylistic disadvantage added with the difference of size. Vitali is very robotic ,the bigger and more dinamic Fury would beat him by ud.
With this I am not guaranteeing that Fury beats for sure all of these great guys but let's face it guys. Tyson fury would be a very hard fight even for the greats.

I agree. Tyson Fury is a nightmare for anyone. Although I’d pick Ali Holmes Lewis Tyson and and Louis to Ko him with their own skill set of speed and power. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he Beat any of them...that being said Fury’s resume is thin. Like really thin compared to those ranked above him historically. Has to beef it up. I could completely change my opinion if he gets whooped by AJ.

Fury resume is in flux. He's been on PEDs for a while ( Very likely when he beat Wlad who was 39 ), and I don't think Wilder will be fondly remembered. He needs the Joshua fight, badly.

Hold on. Fury is/was a PED abuser. That is not an excuse, and I was never a believer in Wilder. If he beats Joshua and tests clean, sure I'll give him credit.

I don't think Fury can beat a skilled puncher in his prime. He says he wants to retire soon.

    Good thread, man.

Fury is in a weird place right now; he's semi proven at world level, and has passed his initial test with flying colours but the reality is that Wlad was nearing 40 and we don't actually know how good Wilder is among elite HWs. Thing is, he toyed with both. Should he lose to Joshua, Whyte or Usyk ect. what I'm about to say will look ridiculous.

But after seeing and re-evaluating some opinions after Wilder 2, I reckon he's one of the absolute best H2H ever. Be it a mixture of size, class and styles or just me getting caught up in the hype; I think he's all wrong for Frazier, Wlad, Liston and Holyfield. These are guys who I regard incredibly highly H2H.

The only HWs I'd pick over him with a considerable degree of certainty are:
    • Muhammad Ali
    • Larry Holmes
    • Lennox Lewis
    • Riddick Bowe
    • Mike Tyson
Just because guys like Foreman and Louis aren't mentioned doesn't mean I don't think they'd win, just that I can see Fury winning too. Particularly George; what if Fury gets up? He'd be able to box to survive and use his Kronk style late, provided he can take that power. Louis probably finds the mark, and then destroys it with flurries and combos. Fury could flummox him too, though. Louis wasn't exactly a fan of awkwardness.

Guys like Marciano, Norton and Ike, or other guys who's style is awful for Fury, are live dogs but imho, they're either too small or not good enough.

Anyways, good thread, mate. Hopefully we get some fair posts here, and not just the normal modern/classic bias.

He tested clean when he beat Wlad but you're not giving him credit :

I agree that his style and awkwardness would give most of them problems to some extent but i'd comfortable favour the likes of Ali, Holmes, Louis, Tyson and Lewis and Holyfield over him.

Additional rebuttal to the "PED Abuser" claims of @Mendoza came from UKAD itself.

UKAD's final statement on the charge, with particular reference to the suspicion that Fury had acted intentionally, makes its quite clear that any such accusation should be deemed rebutted.

As you mention, he tested clean for the Wlad bout. But, moreover, he had done so several times, all the way throughout the lead-up to their fight, on the following dates: 11 May 2015, 16 July 2015, 8 October 2015, 17 October 2015 and 11 November 2015.

Fury is a handful in any era. The class of top-drawer ATG Heavyweights is enough to get most of them past him, though - with a few perhaps running a risk of dropping a decision.

LMAO. Foreman would demolish fury. It's easy to look like a world beater when your best opponent doesn't even know how to box
