I actually enjoyed Holyfield - Tyson. It's not a dislike of Tyson but more of an underdog putting on an amazing showing against someone once again thought to be near unbeatable or most certainly not beatable by Holyfield. It was a great and memorable event.
Mine was Douglas-Tyson for much the same reasoning as yours but imo 10X. Tyson was at the peak of his career. Douglas on the other hand was known as a fat slob who had no chance whatsoever. A complete afterthought on the way to a superfight between Tyson and Holyfield. He was supposed to be another bum. Another 1st round KO. The commentator in the beginning even said something to the effect of "Douglas says he's gonna shock the world. If Douglas beats Tyson, that's gonna make the war in the middle east look like minor trouble." The commentary itself was excellent and elevated the emotions further.
