As I said, I don't care. It's not like he didn't train during that period and he likely had a lot of exibition during that time. Fitz was in his prime against Jeffries both times.

Read Pollack's biography of Fitzsimmons.Thats the best advice I can give you because you are wilfully denying and ignoring every fact I give you.

What fact? I know that he had 2 years break before Jeffries fight. It doesn't make him past prime though.
Fitz was younger in their first fight and did worse. Jeffries was just a bit too good for him. I am Fitz fan, believe me I have no reason to lie about him.

No man who is 37 and 39 ,coming out of a 2 years retirement in each case can be described as prime!

He was 37 for their first fight drunk the night before and had not fought for 2 years!

It's not true. Fitz had two of his best HW wins between two Jeffries fights. I know you dislike Jeffries, but there is no need to downgrade Fitzsimmons because of that.

Yeah, he underestimated young Jeffries it didn't make him past prime though. He got second chance, he was motivated then and put up better performance. Still lost, no shame in that. Jeffries was very good.

I think Bob Fitzsimmons is aP4P all time great fighter that's why I decided to get informed about him and bought his biography.ps I also have Jeffries one! After beating both Sharkey and Ruhlin in the space of two weeks Fitz begged Jeffries for a title fight. Jeffries made him wait 2 years!
Did you know that after he had ko'd Sharkey he leaned over the ropes and called to Jeffries sitting ringside
"You'll give me a fight now Jim,won't you? Get up and shake hands on it."Jeffries remained seated.
"Get up and shake," urged Fitz .The crowd took up the call and reluctantly Jeffries rose and shook hands.
I don't make stories up, I do research before I post!

If you're 37 , haven't fought for 2 years and are giving away12 years and are 39 lbslighter. YOU AIN'T PRIME!

I know this story, Jeffries got him a chance. The problem is that he had to give other candidates chance as well.

Weight is not important in terms of being prime or not. Younger Fitz would also be that much lighter.
If some of your best fights came after this moment, then you are in your prime. Fitz was unique fighter who aged extrmerly well. I think that we simply disagree about term of "prime". I remember that you said Archie Moore was past his prime against Rocky and I also disagree with that.

After Fitz had kod the two top ranked contenders inside 2 weeks in a total of
    8rounds
1.Why didn't' he get a title shot for 2 years during which time he did not fight?
2.Why did Jeffries defend against Ruhlin instead ,a man Fitz had nearly killed?
3.Who exactly made Jeffries fight Ruhlin instead of Fitz who had ko'd Ruhlin?
4.Ruhlin had won just 1 of his previous 3 fights.

Archie Moore in a taped interview said his legs were gone for the Marciano fight.Moore said he was 38 ,his Mother said he was 40.Either way no fighter is in his prime at38/40 years old!
You don't think Fitz being 39pounds and 47pounds lighter than Jeffries is important?
