If somebody deals coke to children on the streets of London and then becomes heavyweight champion are you suggesting they would be unlikely to receive millions in sponsorship money due to their previous indiscretions ?
You wrote this : Why argue the point that he hadn't 'recently' become hugely unpopular ? His Klitschko win brought him into the mainstream media spotlight and brought him into the wider public's consciousness. Making him hugely unpopular. Which was 'recent' to his 2016 drugs scandal. So, why argue otherwise ?
To be fair, he/the however many people that post under his name are only doing what Eddie Hearn's telling them to do. It works I guess....
It was numerous fails Pow as reported 4 tests were over the 2ng/ml fail level and 1 was just below it. It clearly states this in the Sunday Times article. So I have to prove a negative? Have a day off. Where is the proof that he gave his money to charity? If he can't pay a farmer £25,000 or pay Mick who is a huge reason he was successful until Hennessey had to bring a court case against Tyson why are we to believe he gave his whole purse to charity when there is absolutely no proof at all. Thanks for ignoring my response to your previous post though. I will assume that you agree.
He was always hugely unpopular in the boxing establishment. That is why he never made the Olympic team despite being the most talented heavyweight amateur and also why no promoter would take them on.
I prefer to reference the UKAD report rather than a media article as in this case it proves credibility.
I don't go in for conspiracy theories. This looks like a case of somebody not keeping there promises and it is coming back to bite them. What paper is going to turn down a story like this? Completely agree regarding UKAD, they are useless and couldn't have handled this worse if they tried. It may have had something to do with Tyson's new found fame and popularity and someone within UKAD may have wanted a big scalp to boost their career but this still doesn't explain the reported number of failed tests before being charged. There will probably be more information to come in the Sunday Times this weekend.
You'd have to imagine he would have done well at the Olympics but Price was the Olympic chosen one long before he beat Tyson as an amateur. Price's face clearly would have fitted better with the suits than Tyson's as well, on that we can agree.
I believe that fury took PED's, there is no point trying to pretend otherwise but there is no point going over an issue that has already been dealt with. I also think that hearn is only trying to appease whyte by going after fury, he would rather make the Fury-Joshua fight.
It would not be the first time the Sunday times has been sued for libel and neither would it be the last. Let me remind you it is owned by Rupert Murdoch.
The fact that it is owned by the most successful media man in history doesn't make it less likely to be true. If it was true and he failed four tests would it change your opinion?
An interesting thing about Hearn's statement on this is the fact that he's now working with signed Hughie Fury (still trained/managed by Peter) and if this re-investigation was pursued in a fair manner, surely they are going to be punished as much as Tyson is.
