Duran@135 was just too much for the division. Too much. FMJ@147, the less aggressive, potshotting, highly intelligent version of Floyd. The way he took easy care of Mosley and Pac are mighty impressive. Granted there are better overall boxers here like SRR, SRL and Hearns, but Floyd looks as if he can always find a way to defeat you.
RJJ - middle & Super middleweight Mayweather - junior lightweight Holyfield - cruiserweight Ray Robinson - welterweight
Yes i know that, but all the loses of jackson were at middle and apart from leonard and robinson who could beat them in those weights?
Having gotten into boxing in the early 1980’s, l though Don Curry looked unbeatable but was a shell after Honeyghan stopped him. I thought ‘Iron’ Mike would break Marciano’s record. Hagler was probably the best around.( beat my home town favourite, Tony Sibson ) Great topic this, reading everyone’s opinions going back through the decades.
Part of the reason Jones looked so unbeatable at 160/168 is that he avoided most of the best fighters at those weights. He was also never the #1 at 160, so not sure we can even include him there. I wonder if he regrets wasting such a big portion of his prime.
