Had Horn by 1 point. Close rough brawl that he edged. It was any and everything but a clear win for Pacquiao, that is certain... Horn def had size but he wasn't the first fighter to have that on Pacquiao. Crazy to think that not many even knew who Horn was when the fight first got rumored months before signing.
It’s a shame it’s impossible to have a serious discussion about this fight. I think from memory I either had it 7-5 Pac or 6-6. Regardless, it was a damn impressive performance by a moderately skilled fighter like Horn, and a trash performance by Pac who basically got no offence going for the first half of the fight. You can talk about fouling until you’re blue in the face and it still doesn’t explain away how ineffective Pac was for a big chunk of the fight.
Because there is no way that this fight can be taken seriously. The officiating was the worst seen for a large international audience. The non stop fouls from Horn the shocking referee all the way to the shocking score cards. The entire event was a complete joke and an absolute mockery to the sport. Jeff Horn will forever be known as a joke and a disgrace to boxing. He literally had the Queensland government buy him a win that day.
The only thing not taken seriously is you and your garbage and im almost certain you and trash posts like this are exactly what he was talking about. Noybody wanting a serious discussion about this fight or any involving Horn, care about your agenda driven trash posts which aren't even close to what actually happened. Whether you like it or not,the event itself in front of record live crowd and Horns performance against 1 of the best boxers of all time,is in the record books as 1 of the ATG performances from an aussie boxer/athlete and will be be remembered long after we are all long gone. Your description of the fight as foul ridden affair with worst officiating ever seen, shows how little you know about the sport
This content is protected Locker room post fight. The blood came from 2 cuts from Horn's headbutts. You were saying?
He's alright. Watching live, not really scoring attentively, I thought he beat Manny. Watching it back a couple years later, I realized that my excitement over the prospect of a fighting schoolteacher rising to defeat the great Manny Pacquiao had gone to my head a bit. Had Manny winning clearly enough. Horn was very brave and industrious, but Pacquiao did the sharper scoring work in more of the rounds. Even before I went back and scored the fight, I figured that Manny would get him in a rematch, that it was a Robinson-Turpin type of situation. Pacquiao's camp obviously didn't fancy it as much. It was a rough old mauling scrap for an elder statesman, after all.
All the record books actually along with the right ups by media and discussions by people that no more then you do. Despite Pac not being at his peak he was still a top 10 P4P fighter and welterweight world champ, like he is years after Horn beat him by unanimous decision. The fact there has been almost no better performance from any boxers from this country in beating an ATG top 5 boxer to win his world title or even athlete was why he won the Don award as Australian athlete of the year along with many similar awards that year for his efforts in that fight. Despite you and some others not agreeing with the result, just like other close fights with disputed decisions there will be no asterix or anything beside the result in any record books, other then maybe noting 5 independent WBO judges rescored and further ratified Horns win, with only 1 of them scoring it for Pacquio.
Oh he won the Don award? An Australian award LOL. I think I will take the word of a guy like Teddy Atlas over know nothing Aussie journo hacks. More credible boxing writers and experts across the world deemed it as a complete robbery. You make out as if just me and a few guys on this forum think it was a robbery LOL. You still have not specified what record books? Back with the independent judges argument again? Ok...
All Facts you can't handle or are in utter denial about, the results of the fight are and will be in every record book long after we are gone. Close fights like Horn v Pac are going to have plenty of disagreement and discussion on the decision etc but trying to have discussion with a known loonbag when it comes to Horn is waste of time especially with ridiculous assertions like Horn deserving to be DQd and it being some of the worst officiating in an international contest along with denial about what actually happened.
Pro fighters and well known boxing experts agree with me they know a lot more than your Courier Mail pals like Grant Lee Kieza. Checkmate kid. This content is protected
There is none of the record book calling this fight as an ATG performance, but all of the record books are calling Horn as one of the dirtiest fighters of all time instead.
