Out of the top 3 p4p who has the best resumes

if you think canelo is more skilled than Loma, you are smelling bath salts bud.

Skillwise, Loma is on another level. Canelo is blessed with alot of power + a great great chin.

The only way we can prove someone's skill level is by the level of opposition they face. I've been watching boxing long enough to see very talented fighters look unbeatable until they actually stepped up.

I can't see Canelo ever getting bullied, roughed up, and beat by a fighter of Orlando Salido's caliber. He is far too good, too skilled for that.

I can see Lomachenko is a better dancer, which realy helps him with his style, but as a boxing fan I can't say that either fighter is levels above one another. The only thig I have to go based on are their resumes.

Canelo has 1 loss against a slick defensive wizard who was the P4P#1 and is an ATG in his 60th fight as an amateur and pro, and has improved much since.

Lomachenko has 1 loss against an aggressive slugger who was all but shot, battle worn, literally on his way out in his almost 400th fight as an amateur and pro at the age of 26, in the prime of his life.

Again, they are both highly skilled and I have Loma right behind Canelo on the P4P list. Both have different sets of talents, and both have different skill sets.

To call someone barmy for thinking the P4P#1 fighter may be more skilled than the P4P#2 or 3 fighter is barmy imo.

I can't see Canelo ever losing to an old past prime battle worn aggressive fighter like Orlando Salido. I can't see Canelo getting KD against a fighter of Linares' caliber.

Once Lomachenko starts fighting top caliber opposition we will be able to better compare their success. But until then Canelo is more proven.

 

Even with the "dubious" wins, Canelo by a landslide. It aint even close.

Yeah, about Rigo.

That's like saying Lomachenko getting beat by Crawford would be a good win for Crawford.

Linares was a nice scalp. Good fighter, a top LW at a time that LW was not popping, especially with Mikey leaving.

I think Loma's best win was GRJ. Loma needs to step up, he's not getting any younger.

 

Canelo's best attributes imo are his defence and chin, both of which I'd say are better than Lomachenko's, although defence is close. His overall skillset it excellent, though.

I don't hold the Mayweather loss against him. Better have done worse vs Floyd, and Nelo was drained and green for that. No doubt it's a great win for Mayweather, but Canelo took it properly and improved his game afterwards.

Now, I similarly don't hold Loma's loss too far over his head. Salido was huge in comparison and very dirty. That's not an excuse though as Loma should've beaten him anyway. It's a bad look for him, however he's improved by unbelievable amounts since then. Can you honestly see that salido doing it to this Loma? I can't. However, Lomachenko did lose to him, soooooooo... Yeah it's a worse loss. That said, I don't think anyone is actually arguing Lomachenko has had a better career than Canelo.

On the final point, I'd normally agree. It should be close, however what Canelo has at the minute which is made him P4P #1 isn't actually his skill(although it's obviously played a big part and is immense in its own right), moreso his physical abilities and the fortune to be in and around stacked divisions. He's picking wins over proven, talented guys left right and centre whilst Loma isn't.

However Loma is proven at the world level enough for me to trust my eyes that his skill is real. My eyes are telling me he's clearly more skilled than Canelo.

Each to their own though, good, fair post. Apologies for being so ridiculous.

And to be frank, as long as your #1 is Canelo, and the other 4 are Crawford, Loma, Usyk and Inoue; I don't think there's a wrong answer to the P4P question right now.

Very fair post, even if I don't fully agree with it.

My opinion is that both fighters are the crème of the crop. They are #1 and #2, but again, I can't rate Lomachenko's skill set over a fighter with a superior resume, and that goes for any fighter, and that is why Canelo is universally recognized as P4P#1.

 

He still only has 15 pro fights to his name so far and already has decent scalps in Linares, Rigondeaux and Russell Jnr, let’s see his resume in 10 fights time, at that point I expect it to read like a hall of fame list, where possible and within his weight divisions.

 

Lomachenko is definitely a badass. I'm a fan, have been since the beginning, though I am not a die hard fan of his, mainly because he did not fight Miguel Berchelt, and Mikey Garcia, that didn't sit well with me as a fan.

I do want to clarify that I don't think the Garcia fight was entirely his fault, and I am also no longer a big fan of Mikey because he also didn't take the important fights when he was at LW.
