Can we straight up say Usyk is the 2nd greatest Cruiserweight?

Both Gassiev and Briedis are harder hitters than Mormeck, both are better athletes, Briedis is a lot faster, has better punch variation and Gassiev has much better balance and is more durable. They'd both smoke Mormeck.

Usyk would stay on the back foot against Haye and not come forward like he did against Bellew. He has far superior footwork, chin, jab, ring IQ and engine. Haye's awkwardness and explosiveness would surely give Usyk problems for the first 6 or 7 rounds(he might even visit the canvas as I previously said), but that's also how long his explosiveness last with his: questionable gas tank 6 or 7 rounds. After that point, Usyk would take over with his superior ring IQ and his far, far, far superior workrate and would cruise to a 8-4/9-3 type of decision win.

Think of Haye struggling badly against past prime Mormeck, and then think of him against Gassiev who's younger, bigger, stronger and much harder hitting than Mormeck. Gassiev also has better balance and like Usyk, he also has far superior gas tank to Haye.

Gassiev is all wrong for any version of Haye and would knock him out late in a fight.

Don't forget Hunter, may not have been a champion at CW but he's already established himself as a top 10 HW. A very good title defence, and once again done on the road.

Hes more dynamic in his punches I agree, but down to a styles thing and Gassiev being a ****ing beast, I think he soaks up Haye at Cruiser and catches him late, but the flip side to that is, Haye has good movement and can box on the back foot and has crunching power, ive also never seen Gassiev hurt

Imo, that taught him a lot, you cant just blast through everyone and Thompson was a heavy handed determined mofo plus Haye was a bit green still

In all seriousness, Haye does possess attributes which could trouble Usyk. Namely his speed, head-movement and athleticsm. You know who else this describes? Michael Hunter. :sisi1

Both even use the straight right as their go-to... Both have bad gas tanks but Haye has much more power compared to Hunter, but an equally poor gas tank and a much much worse chin.

That sajd, I see Haye doing similar to Hunter, coming out cute, using his head-movement and setting up shots, but then when he lands something big(which he would; Usyk isn't a defensive master) he'd probably start to do what he always did which was throw his pacing out the window and get wild. When he does this, Usyk is obviously gonna steer him away with his feet and use his ridiculous volume to further tire Haye out.

After playing it safe, and probably losing the early rounds, Usyk would turn it up with his own pressure and start walking Haye down like he did Huck, Glowacki and Hunter. Mixing his power levels on the punches in bunches he'd throw. Eventually, Haye's stamina and chin catch up to him and he gets stopped. Again.

Gassiev is very upright, has little in the way of defence and doesn’t move his head. He would literally be a sitting duck against Haye, he gets countered into oblivion in 5 rounds. Morneck was a much more well rounded boxer than crude, one dimensional Gassiev. One of the most overhyped fighters of recent years.

Hunter fights nothing like Haye, and is not nearly as good a fighter.

I didn't say he did... I said he has eerily similar attributes. Which he does. Oh and get back to me when Hunter gets dropped by a shot, shakey-chinned 40 year old who was Euro level at best...

You're clearly as a massive Haye groupie. Stop swinging from his bollocks. It's not a good look.

I think you’re projecting with the groupie thing there my good chap. Let’s see how well Usyk deals with (a much older Chisora) compared to Haye and revisit the topic then. Not sure Usyk can handle that kind of heat tbh.
