Probably not. I would feel awkward fighting my brother in any arena as a sporting spectacle, even if we were not close. Out of interest has it happened before in boxing ?
Obviously you want to see the 2 best fight eachother. But you cant expect 2 brothers to engage in something that could potentially kill one of them for money.
I think that they did not fought each other, while the result was obvious for both of them. Vitali is elder brother and he dominated over Wlad for years. So psychologically Wlad already lost.
Of course they should not have fought. It's the most forgivable duck in all of boxing. No one expects you to punch your family in the face for money.
Yes, sanctioning belts weren't supposed to follow their mom's advice. They did and that was wrong, but it's not like these orgs have ever been legit.
Vitaly was arguably the most dominant boxer in history since Rocky Marciano, with two injury losses, and he led the way in scoring. Common logic suggests that he would knock out his brother as well, he was bigger fighter and more resistant to punches. Wlad might have been technically better.
I am suprised that even about 1 if 4 people think siblings should fight each other. Does this really need to be explained? We are not talking a scrap when they were kids, or that they were brought up separately. They promised their Mother they would never fight, & yet for the thrills of fans, they should violate the basic human & common sense taboo against having an all out fight with worldwide attention. Come on now. Anyone who resents them njot fighting is a bit daft.
