I wouldn't say so, he's admitted to being dropped by quite a few prospects in sparring, and if you go on Youtube and type "Fury Ko'd in sparring." you'll probably find the video after a while. It's only speculation because I'm never really sure when he's trying to have the public on. I'm going by what he's said.
to fight, They have to exist at the same time don’t they? Works both ways. Throw Marciano into today and have him develop from the beginning with everything available now and he is an unrecognisable fighter. One that nobody can guess would be better or worse. Literally cannot exist as he did today. Impossible. Throw Fury into the 50s with what was available then to develop physically and he wouldn’t even make it. He cannot exist as he does now. Impossible.
How about we just match them as they were, the living reality? The 5 feet ten and a half inch, 187lbs ,and 68 inch reach Rocky and put him in with the 6 feet nine inch 270lbs,85inch reach of Tyson ? WHO WINS? Hint you can pick one of two choices.
The OP didn't ask if Marciano was raised today, how would he do against Fury. Unless otherwise stated, both men are fighting AS THEY WERE. You know this all to well because you never use this argument in fights where you pick Marciano as the winner.
The shortest contender Fury fought was Chisora who had 3 inches in height, 6 inches in reach and 60lbs in weight. This is what happened This content is protected
Marciano would need a trampoline to headbutt Fury. You're essentially admitting the only way Marciano has a chance is if he throws low blows which could get him disqualified
Do you think Tyson or Frazier don’t stand a chance? They are of the same height? Marciano gave plenty of people low blows in his career without getting disqualified. The low blows I’m saying or head butts would come if Fury illegally holds. And no he wouldn’t need it to win. Fury’s is a fighter I happen to like a lot but he has his faults. Record being number one. He’s done well against two good opponents let’s not crown him top five yet.
No I don't, I think the weight, height and reach are all way too much for them. Tyson has some chance due of his explosiveness and high skillset. It's not illegal to hold in boxing. And that's another huge disadvantage. When Fury either leans or puts Marciano in a headlock and puts 285lbs of weight on his back Rocky would get tired out very quickly. If you watch the Chisora fight Fury was happy to mix it up inside. It didn't give Chisora
Marciano. He was bigger, wait no he wasn't. He was more skille wait no, he was one of the most unskilled champs in history. Well at least he faste wait no, they're on oppisite ends of the spectrum in terms of speed. Well he has a better res, wait no he didn't. He fought (and went death with) mostly cruisers and old men. Well even though, he doesn't have any conceivable advantage. He'd find a way. He's Rocky!
Think it’s a little premature to anoint Fury the greatest over other HW champions who beat a lot more then two or three contenders. Although I do understand the love thrown Fury’s way. H2h he seems like he would be a nightmare for anyone. He does have faults. Chin is still questionable. Stamina, weight (to much), style (not conducive to long term success in my opinion will get worse and worse as he ages. He has shown a great ability to adapt to his challenger. Strength is under rated imo. Ring Iq is excellent. But he also had barely been tested. An old Wlad and a terribly over rated wilder are his best wins. Let’s see how he does against AJ. if I were picking anyone to beat Fury it would be Marciano, Tyson, or Frazier. He’s to big for his own good and no one had seen a real pressure fighter take him on. Would like to see him take on Povetkin years ago. Povetkin is old now. maybe see him take on Miller or Ruiz (Ruiz can’t cut a ring off that well though).
