Round 1: Lomachenko 10-9, clear.

Slow paced opener. Vasyl analysing Siri, gathering data. On the front foot, as you'd expect, Loma walk Salido down and putting him on the ropes. A huge overhand, but a swing and a miss from Salido. Lomachenko doing a lot of feinting, positioning and creating angles. Loma looking to pry apart Siri's guard like a lobster working at an oyster. Lomachenko applying more pressure at the end, winning the only exchange.

 

Dirty fighting is fighting. Loma may not like it but he ain't in there to dance.

 

Round 2: Lomachenko 10-9, clear.

Another tactical, data-gathering, round. Loma moving around the ring and using his lead like a rapier, piercing Siri's guard. Hi-Tech showed he could switch when Salido piled on some semi-successful pressure and Loma played the part of the matador. Almost all of the body shots, and attempted low-blows, were blocked by Loma's elbows.

 

Round 3: Lomachenko 10-9, close.

Vasyl coming out with a wider array of offence now, using his left hand. Salido trying to work in the clinch, jumping forward to get them. Salido working the body here... well, the hips. Loma's jab and fancy footwork let him keep Salido off him for the most part, but he wasn't landing too clean.

 

Pish posh. That's beta-male propaganda. Only alpha males forcefully toucjy other men in that area.

 

Round 4: Salido 10-9, close.

Loma boxing at first, but then darting in to attack. As he did, Salido burst forth himself with plenty of shots, legal or otherwise and marked Loma up. Particularly downstairs. Loma, after tasting Siri's metal, backed off and got back to boxing, which made this close. However, Siri's damaging work on the inside took this one for me.
