Yes.....yes that is what's next. Prime Spinks vs Prime Mayweather, who ya got?? I see Mayweather pulling a "Mike Tyson" on Spinks and stopping him 90 seconds into the first round.

I think that 2006 Mayweather convincingly stops 2012 LaMotta

This whole subject is moot, Floyd would never get in the ring with Jake Lamotta , and if he did Jake would grind him up

I imagine the referee would stop the fight with Mayweather on his feet but against the ropes, taking a real pasting from LaMotta. About round 7 or 8.

I would actually favor Mayweather to grind it out

Because Lamotta is crude and not a big middleweight. He was 5'8.

this is a good match in the sense of Era's...

PBF would definitely be a Welter cum Middleweight back in LaMotta's time and as I always say that changes a lot 'outcome' wise.

Many more fights against many more Top Fighters with great & atg prowess.

Who would be most of the Top Welters Floyd would HAVE to face to stay in Contention before even getting a title crack, followed up by who would be top Middles he'd HAVE to face for the same, Contention rights & title hopes - because it's not guaranteed.

though I believe Jake enjoys the benefit of 'overrating', I also believe he'd smother Floyd into a decisive victory, as would a whole host of others from then.

in todays scene by comparison with fewer fights and MONTHS to make weight, men of Jake's stature, just like Floyd would be fighting as LW's, jr Welters and Welters.

it always amazes me how when discussing these scenarios so many people just compare by weight class, rather than the Era's that allow fighters to opporate 2 and 3 weights below their Natural weight stature wise, i.e BHops and Co are L-HW cum HW's back then.

While conveniently continuing to duck Larry Merchant.

LaMotta was a 'big' middleweight in terms of weight; his struggles to make 160 were well documented.
How would Floyd fight him? Like he did Andre Berto?

LaMotta wasn't a tall MW, but he had a thick set build and was a big MW for his era. Most of his non title fights were contested at LHW and he struggled terribly to make 160lbs.
