    Hatton.

    Gatti is a legendary warrior but he isn't a natural LWW. He got stopped by Angel Manfedy ffs..

    I don't think it would even be hugely competitive if we are talking peak Hatton. Hatton only lost to two ATGs. He gets a bit underrated because he was seen as a 'brawler'..

    Hatton just being respectful & humble here.

    Hatton stops him without having to shift into 2nd gear, and im a huge GattI fan. Hatton was just a more quality fighter.

    Hatton' only 2 losses were to the 2 best p4p fighters of his era, and both those fighters have been mired in PED/steroid controversy stemming way back before Hatton ever fought them. Theres a good chance that Hatton is undefeated on an even playing field.

    GattI was wicked exciting but lost to more than 1 subpar opponent.

    Also Gatt I had his hands FULL with an old Mickey Ward. One of my favorite fighters but he would have been mauled by Hatton. Hatton on the other hand fought a fighter that wasnt far off from Ward in Ray "Sucra" Oliveira. Ray was a tough dude and good fighter and he got absolutely mauled, destroyed, and stopped by Hatton.

    IIRC, Joe Hutchinson who fought both said that Gatti felt like a 9st weakling compared to Hatton.

    I was gutted when Hatton beat Tszyu but I've long rated Hatton as one of the most destructive body punchers of recent times. His thumping body shots were sickeningly heavy

    In (or near) his absolute prime he got schooled by and received a gift over Luis Collazo. Granted, that was a bridge too far as he was the classic 'perfect fit' in his division - way too big for lightweight, but undersized for welter - but still. Collazo was a world class boxer in his day but if we're talking ATG scale he's a very average belt holder in the historical view, all things considered.

    That said, Gatti could not box like Collazo - although, his boxing skills (and Hatton's own, as Ricky alludes to) were underrated ...largely because they both underutilized them.

    Exactly. People act like Hatton couldn't be hurt and was a defensive master. One good left hook and Hatton would be spaghetti legged.

    Hatton would run over Gatti IMO. He was too fleet footed, closed distance well, mauled on the inside, had great hooks and uppercuts on the inside. I don't see where he'd ever let Gatti even mount a real offense.
