No one has him #1, especially not me. So you take offense to people who thought Big Vit had a good resume? And from that, you somehow think the guys today are doing better?? If Vatali's is average, then you must think Wilder's and Fury's resumes are pure dog crap.

Briggs was even older and he had retired years earlier due to health problems. It was a poor cherry pick and you'd have bashed anybody from this era unmerciful if they plucked an unranked 40 year old who had been fighting in hotel lobbies.

Vitali not even being able to even produce a knockdown of Briggs should be classed as a loss in itself. Put AJ in there and Briggs is gone in 3 rounds. Uppercuts , hooks and right hands in sequence - Briggs wouldn't be able to handle the precision punching from Joshua. Joshua would probably look like the second coming of Mike Tyson against Vitali's run.

I do not take offence at all. I get frustrated. I’m sorry but there is literally no name that makes me think ‘elite win’.

he could have had two elite wins over byrd and Lennox but he couldn’t get over the line.

I actually feel side by side wilder and vitalis WBC defences are quite comparable. Very average opposition. Lost when stepped up to elite.

wlad I’m not arguing, you can have him wherever you want. Vitali however has no place in the top 15.

Arroela was beaten by Stiverne and Chambers was beaten by Washington. Those victors are often trashed by you because they were beaten by Wilder.

I can agree with that some. But using the standard from that era, then there are no elites in today's division. Closest to one is only Fury.

if vitali stuck it out a few more rounds against byrd, picked up that top win, and still lost to
Lennox TKO6 in the same manner it would be a different conversation.

I don't know. Byrd was NOT considered an elite HW at the time he fought Vit.

Vitalis resume is thinner than Kate Moss after a 2 week cocaine binge.

Look at Joshua’s resume - Wlad, Whyte, Povetkin, Parker, Ruiz, Breazeale. You think Sanders, Arreola, Chisora and Sam Peter is more impressive?

byrd was ring no.9 year 2000.
Byrd was ring no.3 year 2001
Byrd was ring no.2 year 2002
Byrd was ring no.2 year 2003

can you see how I can get frustrated?

I'm talking about when they fought. At that point in time, Byrd wasn't elite, nor had any big wins.

Byrd was top 10 ring. He was top 10
In the orgs. Please, just don’t lie to yourself! Accept he was highly rated when they fought. It actually makes vitalis loss more acceptable

also after beating vitali, Byrd remained in the ring top 10 for 4 consecutive years.

Being in the top ten makes you elite? WTF do you mean don't lie to myself? I was well in to boxing at that time. Byrd was seen as a contender, but was about it. Made himself a higher ranked contender eventually. You're being hyperbolic about Byrd's status at the time of the fight though.
