Who would have won, the Mike Tyson who beat Trevor Berbick or the Jack Dempsey who beat Jess Willard

In a head to head sense, Tyson's best 7 wins are leagues and aeons better than Dempsey's. Not one of Dempsey's best two victims could beat any of Tyson's best 8.

I'm pretty sure that Bill Brennan could handle the likes of Razor Ruddock, Tony Tucker, Michael Spinks, 1988 Larry Holmes, Frank Bruno and Carl Williams.

He couldn't handle an undersized middleweight, who twice had him on the verge of being KO'd in 4 fights... but he's going to handle those guys.

Again, please name the 3 best victims of Brennan. I am waiting with baited breath.

I put a laundry list of his victims in this thread:
    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...preciation-thread.646641/page-3#post-20386137

And perhaps they couldn't handle the "undersized middleweight"

You listed a bunch of .500 scrubs and guys on losing streaks.

Again, where are his quality victories? Anytime he stepped above what was considered the B level for his day, he got spanked.

Still doesn't mean he wouldn't beat Razor Ruddock or Michael Spinks

Tyson. At that point in his career Tyson had the hunger. Still fresh with Cus peekaboo system and outweighs Dempsey by thirty pounds. Too fast. Tyson KO

Ruddock destroyed Mike Dokes and fought Tyson to a standstill.

Spinks beat Holmes and ignited Cooney.

Brennan beat... Uh... Ummm... George Gobel or somebody.

The problem is you are either too mentally feeble or too afraid to back up any of your bullsh*t with a cogent argument. And that's a rather revealing problem to have.

215 lb Tyson would go through a 190 lb Dempsey even easier than 190 lb Dempsey went through a 175 lb carpentier

Brennan beat George Davis who Wikipedia describes as "a competent heavyweight"
He knocked out Tony Ross and this is what wikipedia has to say about Ross "Ross would meet some of the greatest heavyweights of his day, including a heavyweight title bout with Black boxing great Jack Johnson on June 30, 1919."

    Also from wiki:

On April 23, 1920, Brennan knocked out Walter "Farmer" Lodge, also known as "Soldier" Lodge in the third round at the Moose Club in Detroit, Michigan. Brennan was dropped for a count of four in the first round which excited the audience. Lodge was described as being 6' 4", one of Brennan's few opponents who would have had a reach advantage. In a subsequent round Lodge was down and out for "a full ten minutes

So Razor Ruddock wasn't the only one with a devastating punch. Face it, Dempsey beat a HW wonder in Bill Brennan

Those guys did not have great records. Ross fought a few greats-who did he beat?
And Lodge is listed at 3-5 before he fought Brennan!

Regarding Davis, "A competent Heavyweight" is not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Also it is not being a "size queen" to say that weight & muscle matters.
More so when they guys they fought would generally be able to make LIGHT HEAVY WEIGHT today.

Would you match up even the best LHW over any great, prime HW?
Even the few guys who moved up successfully-& it does not count when you were very young & still naturally filling out-would you pick say a Spinks who was not over 175 over even a faded Holmes?

Tyson was listed as 221 in the Berbick fight.
Though taller than Tyson, I believe Dempsey was 187 for Willard. A reporter years ago interviewing Tyson said Dempsey looks like a MW.

I think many other legends came closer to loving up to their reputation than Dempey did.
But how can we pick a guy who relied on power-whose actual size was that of a rehydrated LHW, max.-to beat a very fast & powerful HW?

I favor many of the old times over most, sometimes maybe ANY, modern fighter.
If they are the same size. Even comparing divisions you must compensate for the actual size they were in the ring.

But this version of Tyson had ~ 35 lbs. of functional muscle on Dempsey.
And he was no crude slugger like Firpo-he was infinitely more skilled in his mode of attack + his defense.

WIllard started boxing extremely late, was out of shape, complacent, & had minimal ring action for years, besides being old for that time.
He was not nearly as good as when he beat Johnson-even then it took the heat, an out of condition Johnson, & being well behind after 20 rounds to win.

Maybe with enough training, including with weights, Dempsey could have been competitive with Tyson.
As is, he has little chance.

Tyson is better in every aspect of boxing. Faster, bigger, hit harder, better defense, better jab, better right hand, better uppercut, better left hook, hit way harder
