IF YOU PREEMPTIVELY KILL EVERY NEIGHBOR IN A 1 MILE RADIUS OF YR HOME, YOUR CHANCES OF STAYING HEALTHY GROW.
In the states, anyone over 70 has already gone thru the 1958 Hong Kong Flu (killed 120,000 in the US), the 1968 Flu (killed 100,000 in the US) and the Polio Summers of the 1950's. Those in that age group don't seem too flustered by this latest round.
Just found out tonight that one of my former coworkers who retired a few years ago is now fighting for his life right now with it. This guy is in his late 60's and hasn't been anywhere other than the store to buy groceries a couple of times in the last month and caught it. Scary **** for sure.
That's the worst part of it, not being able to buy groceries or go out into public. Worse than the symptoms itself, which is just a flu.
The thing about Coronavirus is that professional epidemiologists seem to agree that this is very bad and dangerous, whereas blowhards on the internet seem divided on the issue. I guess you can decide who you want to agree with.
Let's see what the fools who say it's nothing but a flu say if it bites them in the arse. An old friend of the family is fighting for his life with it and another ex work colleague of my uncle has just died with it.
I was 71 in November. The youngest child has now gone down with the symptoms and is self isolating. He isnt too bad at the moment,a cough ,headaches, and generally feeling like ****,he is in food supply so has been working throughout ,he and a fellow work mate are now confined.
He has three more days of isolation ,he's a bed up in his computer room to protect his partner. Spoke to him on the phone yesterday,he seems to be improving.
I am sorry to hear that and am sorry for your loss. I have a feeling when all is said and done, everyone is going to lose someone that they love or care about.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday used to mean something to me. I think the USA, and to a greater extent, the world could be at a tipping point. We are now in a global recession. Perhaps the USA will be all right, but many nations will not. Desperation leads to bad leadership, emboldens terrorists to strike, and, as we can see, leads to a stock market crash. Unemployment is skyrocketing. People are not acting normal right now; I can sense it. If Covid-19 lingers and approaches a worst-case scenario, it could take a long time to recover. In tough times leadership and cooperation is needed.
Here in Mississippi we're under a shelter in place order. People aren't really taking the virus seriously enough in my small town. I'm wishing the best for everyone out there and on here. Stay healthy, safe, and use common sense! Even if you aren't born with it, you can still learn it!
